The Third Prince

November 1514

"Oh holy mother of god! let this pain stop!" Katherine cried as she pushed for the hundrenth time, this birth was harder than the last, she took a deep breath,trying to gather all her strenght, oh god it hurt so much, she thought. Her head was dappled with sweat, exhausted from the pushing. 

"Please your grace, push a bit more,you are almost done" the midwife said, the conern and kindess evident in her voice, Katherine looked at the lady and yelled as she pushed, she winced at the pain "Easy for you to say, you are not pushing a full child out of your legs!"

Then finally, she heard it, a cry, she had done it,she had given Henry another child, she was so glad, she was so afraid that she would die from it, but God kept her. She sighed in exhaust and said "give me my child" The midwives smiled at the Queen and gave her a bundled baby.

It was a boy, a strong,robust boy, Katherine felt tears of joy as she looked at her son, her third son,she had done it,she had given Henry three boys,all thriving, especially Harry. She said "I will love you, my prince" 

Just then, Henry came in, with three year old Harry with him. their eyes were shining with joy at the new arrival, Henry sat next to Katherine, Harry on her right. The three looked in awe and love at the third Prince. He was certainly a handsome baby, he had a dusting of blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes and rosebud lips, he was so perfect.

"You have done it,my love" Henry said, his eyes of pure joy and happiness, three boys,he has three boys, the line was secure and safe. Harry said "This is my new brother?" Henry smiled and said "yes, he is and you better take care of him. You must take care of each other, that is a promise you should never break,Harry" 

"I promise,Father" Harry said, his voice innocent and utterly adorable. "What should we name our son?" Katherine asked, unable to take her eyes off her handsome boy, he was utterly handsome, just like his Father. 

"How about....Edward?" Henry said, his voice tender and full of love for his beautiful spanish Queen. Katherine smiled and said "That is perfect" He smiled at her and said "You are perfect,my darling" Katherine met Henry's eyes and he kissed her. Tenderly and full of love and affection.

"I love you,my queen" Henry said as their noses nuzzled. Her heart was full of joy and bliss. "I am proud of you" Henry said, he looked from Katherine to Harry and to Edward. His love for his wife was evident and he could not stop kissing her.

Edward's household was chosen by Katherine, she chose Elizabeth Stafford, who was motherly and a favorite to Katherine as the lady governess of Edward,  Maud Parr was also chosen as one of the 60 members of the Prince's household. Henry could never stop doting on his three sons. He gave Harry millions of toys,books and other things. He was spoiling his sons to the core.

Edward's baptism was held at Westminster just like Harry's and John's. It was grand, tapestries of gold and the finest of silks. The baby's cries echoed as they gently placed the holy around his body, he would be taught and live as Catholic. It would be foolish if he did not.

His household's residence would be Eltham Palace with Prince John,who looked at his new brother with curiosity and love. For a month, the court was celebrating, not only the birth of the third prince but also because King Louis has finally finalized the betrothal between Prince Harry and Princess Renée.

Katherine danced and she laughed, she felt the pain of the first child she lost four years ago finally fade. Many people remarked at her glowing beauty and the rosiness in her cheeks as if she was literally glowing with joy,which she felt like she was. The Future looked so bright and clear and secure.
