ROOMIES

Aliyah-Rose POV-

I finally got all my stuff unpacked and put away. I looked around my room and smiled softly. Everything looked perfect. I had a two-bedroom dorm with a full bathroom in the middle of the rooms. A beautiful kitchen and a living room. I had already decorated almost the entire house except for my roommates' room and there was no food. I grabbed my purse checking that my wallet was in it with my meal card and money before grabbing my phone. I looked at my outfit in my full-length mirror on my door and deemed it was ok to go out in before sliding my fuzzy Ugg slides on and walking out my room and the dorm locking it before I got on the elevator. I stepped off walking out the building and across the street to the grocery store on campus. I stocked up on snacks food and quick meals as well as drinks before going to the register to pay for everything. I walked out with 6 bags in my hands struggling my way back to the dorms' building. I step onto the elevator pushing the button for the 7th floor. Slowly stepping off and walking to my dorm only to find the door wide open. "Hm... I thought I locked it....no I know I did...ROOMIE" I thought to myself. I quickly walked in and set the bags on the kitchen island before starting to put things away. I'm only 5 feet tall so I couldn't reach the cabinets up top. I tried to stand on the counter to reach before I heard a familiar voice yelling at me causing me to slip as I closed my eyes bracing myself for the impact. Only to fall into warm arms and be flooded with the scent of mint and berries.... "OMG LIYAH GET DOWN"

Dejah-Imani POV- I walked into the dorm with my luggage only to see my roomie wasn't here yet. I walked around admiring it clearly noticing she'd been here the whole house was decorated except my room and there was no food. I wonder where she went. I went into my room and started to unpack and decorate. 1 1/2 hours later. I was putting the finishing touches in my room when I heard shuffling in the kitchen I think and a small grunt. I walked out my room only to find... HUH ALIYAH-ROSE MY BESTIE trying to climb the counters.... "OMG LIYAH GET DOWN" I screamed but I must've startled her because next thing I knew she slipped and was about to fall. I sprinted towards her and caught her small body in my arms. I gently cradled her and pushed her long soft brown hair out of her face as her eyes fluttered open slowly. "Hi baby" I whispered softly slowly sitting her up. She let out a small whine and blinked at me a few times before a soft blush crept onto her face as she looked down to her lap fiddling with her fingers. I smirked and chuckled softly as I gently lifted her head up with my thumb and index finger caressing her cheek softly. "I said hi baby. Are you not going to say it back?" I spoke gently watching her eyes flutter while I rubbed her cheek. " Hi mommy" She whispered ever so softly I almost missed it if I wasn't so close to her. I slowly put my hand down as I watched her look up at me with her pretty hazel doe like eyes. I smiled softly " Are you ok? What were you even doing up there pretty?" I questioned as I stood up picking her up with me before gently setting her on her feet and looking down at her. I raised a brow waiting for her answer as she bit her lip nervously and fiddled with her fingers before stuttering out an answer. " I-I-I was putting away the groceries I brought I didn't know what you were doing or where you were, so I never asked for help...sorry". She pouted as her eyes glossed over before she looked down. I grabbed her face gently and lifted her head before wiping away her unshed tears with my thumbs. "I'm not angry love just be more careful next time. If things are too high wait until someone can help you. You could've been seriously injured baby. I don't want that do you?" I watched her shake her head " Good come here" I pulled her into my arms hugging her. " I missed u so much Li-Li". She giggled looking up "Missed you too Dej." I pulled away from the tiny girl in my arms. I'm 5'11 and she just hits 5'0. I smiled down at her kissing her forehead softly before letting her go. She smiled up at me. Now don't get me wrong I know I'm straight, but I'd be gay for her and her only. She's a literal walking angel. Ever since 9th grade she's called me mommy and I loved it. Aliyah was secretly a little, but she hasn't realized it yet. I've shown her things and brought her little items, but she only uses them when I'm with her. I like that she feels comfortable enough to do that with me. I patted her head softly and heard her sigh softly as her eyes fluttered. I stepped back and turned towards the kitchen before looking back at her and signaling towards the living room. She got the memo as she skipped off humming softly, I watched her turn on 'Strawberry Shortcake Bitty Berry Adventures' (A/N I LOVVVEEE THIS SHOW AND HELLO KITTY) I smiled to myself and went to close and lock the door before going back to the kitchen to finish putting everything away. I glanced at the oven at the time as I gathered all the bags. '5:30 pm' Great I can make dinner and get her bathed and in bed by 9:30 or 10. I grabbed ingredients for chicken alfredo as I listened to the angel sing to the shows' theme song. Just as I finished adding the sauce to the pasta, I heard the soft pitter patter of her steps.
