1. The Day Our Dreams Are Sparked

This story takes place in Bowlerbeast City, a city populated by nothing but bowling beasts. What are bowling beasts, you might ask? Think of bowling beasts as your typical anthro furries but either has a trait of a bowling ball or that of a bowling pin. The bowling ball beasts are born to knock pins over and the bowling pin beasts are born to BE knocked over. Because of that, both of these kinds of beast people have flesh as hard as wood (think of Pinocchio). These two types of beast people do not have a hunter and prey relationship, more so a vital source for each others' entertainment. The bowling ball beasts like knocking pin beasts over and the bowling pin beasts have the ability to find pleasure in being knocked over.

Inside Bowlerbeast City, there is a private academy called Lanesetter Academy. Besides the miscellaneous courses that cover regular subjects, Lanesetter Academy is very well known in the city for its heavy emphasis of its performance arts program. After the academy was founded by string-pin pinsetter protogen Hibiki Pinsetter, Beast Bowling has moved on from being a regular sport to an entertainment competition that fuses bowling with (usually) live concerts.

Our dear Maxo is one of the students of this popular academy. Part of a fisherman's family, this bowling pin axolotl enrolled in the academy because he wants to make new friends. His goal is to make 1000 friends in the academy. He is currently in his first year of study, but that academic year is almost over. He is about to step into his second year of studies. Starting from the second year, he and 9 other pin beast schoolmates will have to form a unit for the Bowling Pin Course, and work hard to become one of the academy's top celebrities. Currently, Bowlerbeast City's top celebrities, also known as the BIG2: The top units for the Cute Division and the Cool Division respectively, are formed by alumni of the academy, namely ENJOYxENJOY for the Cute Division, and GIRLS LIFT HEAVY for the Cool division.

Despite Maxo being excited to make new friends via the Bowling Pin Course, he had never seen a Beast Bowling event himself, and had no idea what to expect yet.

When the school bell rang, Maxo headed back to his dorm for revision and finishing up assignments. While walking, he holds a book which he refers to as a "friend album". Whenever he makes a new friend, he records it in the album.

But before he gets to the dormitory building, he stumbles upon what seems to be a pink bowling ball in the middle of a hallway.

Maxo: "Uhhh. Hello?"

The pink bowling ball got startled and shot out a few quills (which Maxo luckily dodged) as she yelped. Turns out she is a bowling ball echidna.

Echidna: "...H...Hello..."

Maxo: "Sorry for startling you. I'm Maxo. What's your name?"

Echidna: "...V...Vicky..."

Maxo: "What are you doing here?"

Vicky: "I just feel like staying here instead of my dorm room for a bit..."

Maxo: "What's wrong? Is there something I can do to help you cheer up?"

Vicky: "No thanks, I need some time for myself."

Maxo: "Ok, but don't stay here for too long. Remember the curfew."

Maxo was about to walk away, but then he realized something.

Maxo: "Oh, one more thing, promise it won't take long. How long have you studied in this academy?"

Vicky: "It's my first year here."

Maxo: "Which division would you like to take on next year?"

Vicky: "It would be great if I can pair up with the pins from the Cute Division! I don't think I can handle the ones from the Cool Division for too long... They hate being knocked over and that means they'll hate me!"
