"कल की परछाइयों में खो गया है प्यार हमारा,
अब सिर्फ यादें बची हैं और एक अधूरा अफसाना।"Abhimanyu groggily opened his eyes, the soft rays of the early morning sun peeking through the curtains of his room. It was his second day at a new school, but instead of the usual excitement that came with such a day, a sense of unease gnawed at him. He had skipped the first day, not due to any physical ailment, but because of something deeper, something inexplicable.
The glimpses had started then—those strange, fragmented memories, or were they visions? He couldn't be sure. All he knew was that they were troubling. Each time they occurred, they brought with them a dull, throbbing headache that refused to be soothed by any medicine.
He saw flashes of an alternate life, where he chose humanities instead of science, where everything was different yet eerily familiar. But he brushed it off. Maybe it was just stress, he reasoned. After all, starting at a new school was never easy, and the pressure to fit in could mess with anyone's mind.
Shaking off the lingering unease, Abhimanyu pulled himself out of bed. He quickly tied his hair up into a neat bun, donned his PT uniform, and headed downstairs for breakfast. His mother had prepared his favorite—a plate of steaming parathas with a side of yogurt. He ate quickly, not wanting to miss the bus again, and soon found himself on the way to school.
His pov :-
The school bus was a cacophony of voices, laughter, and chatter. Abhimanyu slipped into an empty seat near the back, plugging in his earphones to drown out the noise. The school day was about to begin, and despite the strange occurrences, he was determined to focus on his studies. He ignored the fleeting headache that danced on the edges of his consciousness. When the bus reached the school, he joined the throngs of students making their way to their respective classes. The day started normally enough, with Abhimanyu attending his classes and talking with his friends and teachers. He was a naturally friendly person, someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and soon found himself settling into the new environment.
As the clock struck 11 AM, the bell rang for lunch. Abhimanyu, mindful of his diet, decided to head to the canteen with his friends, even though he wasn't particularly hungry. The canteen was buzzing with energy, students gathering in groups, sharing food, and gossiping about the latest school drama.
As he and his friends walked towards the counter, he spotted two girls sitting at a table, engrossed in conversation. He recognized one of them immediately—Aditi. She was the new student he had briefly met the previous day, during his late admission process. Beside her was Jeenie, another new face.
Abhimanyu waved casually as he approached them. "Hey, Jeenie, what's up? How are you both?"
Both girls looked up, a bit startled by his sudden appearance. Jeenie smiled and responded, "Hi, Abhi! We're good. Just chatting."
