It was already past 9 PM, and Beth was starting to get worried since she had arrived home and there was no sign of Scott. She had sent him messages and called several times, but everything went straight to voicemail.
She was sitting anxiously at the dining table when, suddenly, Scott opened the living room door. He had a small grin on his face and didn't seem to notice that his mother had gotten up from the table, crossed her arms, and was giving him a stern look.
Beth: (adjusting her voice) Forgot you have a mother, did you?
Scott: Of course not, hehe, why would I forget?
Beth: Why didn't you answer my messages?
Scott takes out his phone and notices the missed messages and calls.
Scott: Wow... I didn't even see them.
Beth: Do you have any idea how worried you made me? You didn't give any sign of life.
Scott thinks his mom is exaggerating and just heads towards the kitchen to grab something. Beth, shocked by this attitude, quickly steps in front of him before he reaches the kitchen.
Beth: Don't you dare turn your back on me, young man. You might be an adult, but that doesn't mean you can disappear all day without giving any news. We're a team, and you know how hard it already is for me to work extra hours to pay the bills. And now you give me another headache?
Scott: Calm down, Mrs. Anker. I just wasn't paying attention to my phone, no need to freak out.
Beth then grabs the boy by the ear.
Scott: Ow, ow, ow!
Beth: Don't call me "Mrs. Anker," I'm your mother! And now you're officially grounded, Scott Anker. Go upstairs immediately and take a shower. You'll only have dinner and go straight to bed, and if I hear any noise or see the TV light coming from your room, I'll confiscate your computer for a month, am I clear!?
Scott: Alright, alright.
Beth lets go of Scott, who rubs his ear. He turns and heads to the stairs, climbing them while he sees his mother standing downstairs with her hands on her hips.
Scott (thinking): Crazy old lady...
As he went up, Beth sighed in relief, letting go of her "freaked-out mom" stance.

The next morning, Scott was still having his breakfast when Beth came down the stairs in her workout clothes. She had already eaten and was almost ready to leave.
Beth: Alright, Scott. I'm going to the gym. When I get back, I want the kitchen clean and the laundry hung outside.
Scott: Okay...
Beth then headed to the door, and soon after, she was gone. Scott took the opportunity of being alone and concentrated a bit of the power of Sexar in his hand, making it appear as if it were on fire.
Scott (thinking): It's really amazing. At the diner, I was able to manipulate those people's bodies just with the power of my mind... could I possibly...
With that question, Scott went up to his mother's room, where there was a large mirror. He concentrated the powers throughout his body and closed his eyes. After feeling a strong tingling sensation all over, he opened them and was faced with a body with well-defined muscles.
Scott: This is awesome!
Scott kept admiring his muscles as he struck several poses. His muscles had grown a bit, making his shirt fit a little tighter.
