After the university event, Dev and Preeti drive home together. The car’s interior is softly lit, with the evening's shadows playing over the plush leather seats. Dev, seated behind the wheel, glances at Preeti, who is beside him. The air is thick with the hum of the engine and the muted sounds of the city outside.

Dev starts the conversation, his tone unusually casual. “Preeti, did Naina reach her place safely?”

Preeti, slightly surprised by his question, responds, “Yes, she got to her apartment safely.”

Dev raises an eyebrow, intrigued. “Her apartment? I thought she lived with her family.”

Preeti looks at him, her curiosity piqued. “You’re asking about her living situation? This is the first time you’ve shown interest in someone like this. What’s up?”

Dev, feeling a bit defensive but not showing it, replies, “Just curious. It’s not often I hear about someone living alone.”

Preeti, leaning back in her seat, continues probing. “Well, Naina's family is very protective of her. Her mother passed away when she was young, and her father, Veer, and her two brothers, Rahul and Sameer, are especially cautious about her safety. Naina wanted some independence, so she convinced Rahul to get her this apartment.”

Dev listens intently, absorbing every detail. “I see. So, she lives alone because her family is overprotective. Interesting.”

Preeti nods, her eyes twinkling with a mix of amusement and concern. “Yes, she’s quite independent. She loves her space but also values her family deeply. They all care about her a lot.”

Dev remains quiet for a moment, then shifts the conversation. “How do you know her so well?”

Preeti smiles, her tone softening. “Naina and I are close friends. We do everything together – practice dance, study, you name it.”

Dev, now more intrigued, asks, “And what about her likes and dislikes? What’s she into?”

Preeti chuckles. “Well, she loves cooking, especially making cupcakes and noodles. She enjoys dancing and reading. She’s into fashion design at the university. Naina likes quiet places and hates loud noises or crowded spaces. She’s not fond of being controlled or dealing with superficial people.”

Dev, absorbing this information, nods thoughtfully. “Thanks for the insight, Preeti.”
