It's not like me and my mother didn't get along. We got along very well we just both liked our own spaces. I stayed in my room doing what I liked and she did what she liked, yoga reading exercising, and other things. Although on days she wanted company she let me know and we do things together and today was one of those days. I could sense that she felt anxious about our move but was trying to hold it in, she had never cleaned a house so much. When I told her to stop she immediately suggested a picnic. She had nothing ready but the mats and pillows and she said we would buy food when we see a grocery store. Made me anxious as well because what if we don't?

I got ready anyway and made sure to pack two battery banks and cables just in case we got stranded. My outfit wasn't that bad but I knew she would hate it what was the fun in her liking my outfit? "Saint! Are you ready?" she called out when I was about to go down the stairs.  "Yes, I'm done. Mom we don't have to go today you know? There is always next week." she let out the biggest sight I've ever seen her let out. "We can also do it next week you know? Actually we will. You need to find some friends before next week and before school reopens." Now it was my turn to sigh and roll my eyes. "Don't give me that attitude! Make sure you have everything you're going to need and meet me at the car! in 5." she said signaling the said 5 minutes. I honestly wasn't ready to make or meet new people but she looked like she needed it so I had no choice really.

"You know, when I was gardening I saw our neighbors moving their stuff into a truck outside their yard. They're moving out just as we moved in, ain't that crazy?" after this it was followed by an unsolicited lecture about circles of life and how new beginnings are so important. She'd know. After asking me to search up a nearby grocery store I found the one I was in a few days ago, where the strange boy recommended what was now mom's new favorite tea. We went in and bought some sandwiches and snacks and drinks and everything we needed and head off.

The parks here looked a whole neater and kept than the ones we're from honestly. They also had a playground circle where there were swings, mini merry-go-rounds, and other things after I settled down a group of teenagers poured in and headed straight to the swings. "You can go try to talk to them? They look your age." Mom said and I shook my head. "Nah I'm alright. I'm here with you. And will spend time with you." I said and she smiled. A very dazzling smile. "By the way when last did you talk to Tanner? Did you hear her mother is re-marrying?" She said opening a pack of strawberries. "Again? isn't this her 5th husband?" I said and Mom breathed through her teeth harshly "Don't speak about adults that way. Look I personally think she's doing well you know. Instead of sitting through a marriage that doesn't -"

"Oh my god it is you! What are the chances?" a familiar voice cut her off causing both our heads to turn to where it came from. And in front of us was Mr Green Tea specialist. "Hello, we meet again," he said with a smile so blinding it almost penetrated through my glasses. "Hello. we do meet again. Mom this is..." I trailed off since I didn't know his name come to think of it he didn't know mine too. "Mom? I thought she was your sister. Name's Hunter." I cringed so hard I almost vibrated while he was stretching a hand to my mother who was grinning like a Cheshire cat. Oh, he was now her favourite I can see her asking about her every day until we move again. "Oh please! you're too sweet, Saint didn't tell me he has a friend?" She looked at me pointedly and I shrugged, he wasn't really my friend. "Oh we just met," I said and he also nodded agreeing. "I'm with my friend and just came to greet you! See you around, Saint." He said and said goodbye to my mom as well and left. The way he said my name was still ringing in my head.

"He's such a sweet boy. You two should become friends."  Mom said and I scoffed. "Only because he complimented you. He's too bright you know I hate bright people." Mom looked at me weirdly. "Whatever the fuck that means." She mumbled and went back to her business. Hunter and his group of friends were playing at a nearby distance and their laughs were so loud I could hear them. His laugh also stood out it was different maybe because I had already heard his voice, that's why yes. After a while the sun was setting my mom turned into a professional photographer and took so many selfies and portraits and some of me. She forced me to pose because she wanted cute memories, I'm gonna ask for them later.

After sundown, we hung out for a while and talked some more about school and family for a while and decided to pack up at some point. We picked up pizza on the way home for dinner and went home. Knowing how tired she was from driving o ran her a bath and prepared the pizza for her and went to my room.
