Celeste set his bag down in his new room, he hated the look of it. It had a twin-sized bed, and a shelf above it he was sure he'd knock his head into. The shelf had nothing on it, he decided to leave it like that. He didn't want to knock something off of it when he inevitably bumped into it.
He sighed and sat down, as he didn't have the energy to even try and unpack. He opened his phone to see some messages from Aiden, his childhood friend

Aiden:Hey buddy! How's it going?

Celeste: dude, I alr hate it here

Aiden: my bed has room for two y'know ;)

Celeste: fuck off, I'm gonna finish unpacking

Aiden: love you to buddy!

He sighed and laid on the soft bed, it was a lot comfier than the one at his old home, but that's just because this one was newer. He curled up into a ball and almost fell asleep before being jolted awake

"Celeste!!! Come helpe please!"

His mom called, he scowled and sluggishly got up from the bed. Basically crawling downstairs to his mom, who was trying to carry a heavy radio. Celeste ran over and grabbed it, his mom sighed and moved her long, curly, brown hair out of her face

"Thank you so much. Could you help me unpack, I only have heavy stuff left"

Celeste held back a scoff and put the radio on an empty shelf. His mom was always super particular about where things were placed, and always ended up with her doing it anyway. He picked up a heavy looking item but, as expected, was almost immediately stopped.

"No, I'll do this myself, you always do it wrong anyways, just go to your room and finish unpacking"

He was astonished by her quickness to take things into her own hand, but doesn't complain as he heads right back to his room. The reason his mom always asked for help with that stuff is because he was about a foot and a half taller than her and a lot stronger than her. He went back to his curled up position on his bed, and tried to sleep. He fell asleep almost instantly, and woke up to realize that he had slept through the evening and night, it was now morning. He stretched and groaned as he got up, and sat up for awhile in his bed. Just trying to wake up, he got up after a minute of staring at the floor and got dressed into casual clothes, a pair of jeans and a plain, blue T-shirt, as he walked downstairs to see his mom holding his bag and other things. He sighed, almost forgetting he'd be going to a new school. He bolted back upstairs and quickly brushed his teeth, put deodorant on, some cologne, and brushed out his black curls, similar to his mom's but a lot shorter. He bolted back downstairs and generously took the bag from her hands

"Thanks mom"

"Of course sweetheart, now come on"

She exited the house to the garage, he walked with her, flowing her like a lost puppy in the new large house, as if he wasnt a bulky guy himself. As he walked into the garage, the smell hit him like a truck, he stopped for a second to take it in. The sort of must smell wafted towards him as he sighed and got into the passenger seat of the car. His mom turned on the car, and then the radio to some generic country songs, the morning people on the radio chatting in between songs, as he turned on his phone, and started texting Aiden

Celeste: ugh, I already miss you man

Aiden: same, we'll have to have a meetup at some point

Celeste: absolutely, but I still can't believe this is actually happening

Aiden: me either, it's torture, literal TORTURE, but I hope the school is good down there, in uh... Kansas right?

Celeste: dude, your such a dumbass, but yeah, Kansas

They continued to chat for awhile until Celeste reached the school and got out, waving his mom bye and getting out of the car, closing the passenger door, and watching the car zoom off. He sighed, this was actually happening, he turned to face the school, and hesitantly walked forward.
