A Silent Crush: A High School Romance

Chapter 1: The New School Year

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom as Shinobu walked through the gates of Kimetsu High School. It was the beginning of a new school year, and the campus buzzed with excitement. Despite the vibrant atmosphere, Shinobu, with her calm demeanor and soft smile, was the picture of grace and poise. Coming from a wealthy family, she had always been the center of attention, but it never seemed to faze her.

Her best friend, Mitsuri, bounced up to her, her pink hair catching the morning sunlight. "Shinobu! Did you hear? There's a new student in our class this year!"

Shinobu smiled at her friend's enthusiasm. "A new student? I hope he doesn't get overwhelmed on his first day."

Mitsuri giggled. "Well, from what I heard, he's pretty quiet. Maybe he'll be one of the few who doesn't try to ask you out."

Shinobu laughed softly. She was used to the attention, though she found it more amusing than flattering. Her mind was more preoccupied with her studies and spending time with her sisters, Kanae and Kanao, than with the countless confessions she received.

As they walked to their classroom, Shinobu couldn't help but feel a little curious about the new student. Mitsuri had a knack for hearing about everyone, so if she thought he was quiet, maybe he would indeed be different.

Chapter 2: The Quiet Newcomer

Giyu Tomioka stood outside the classroom, unsure if he should go in. He had just transferred to Kimetsu High and wasn't particularly excited about starting at a new school. But there was no turning back now. Taking a deep breath, he opened the door and walked in.

The room went silent for a moment as everyone turned to look at the newcomer. Giyu, with his dark hair and serious expression, didn't make any effort to introduce himself. He simply found an empty seat by the window and sat down, staring out at the cherry blossoms.

Shinobu noticed him immediately. There was something different about him, something that piqued her interest. Unlike the other boys who would try to catch her attention with flashy displays, Giyu seemed content to stay in the background. It was refreshing.

Mitsuri leaned over and whispered, "That's him! The new guy! What do you think?"

Shinobu smiled faintly. "He seems... interesting."

Chapter 3: An Unexpected Encounter

After school, Shinobu headed to the library to return some books. As she walked through the rows of shelves, she noticed Giyu sitting alone, reading. She hesitated for a moment before deciding to approach him.

"Hello," she said softly, not wanting to startle him.

Giyu looked up from his book, his eyes meeting hers. For a moment, neither of them spoke. Then he gave a small nod. "Hello."

Shinobu smiled, finding his reserved nature endearing. "What are you reading?"

"Just a book on history," he replied quietly.

"I see. Do you like history?" she asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

Giyu nodded again. "It's... interesting."

Shinobu could tell he wasn't much of a talker, but there was something about him that drew her in. She decided not to press him further and instead gave him a warm smile. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Giyu. I hope you're settling in well."
