The message was short, simple, yet powerful enough to make my stomach twist with nerves.
"Come over. We need to talk."
I stared at my phone, debating whether or not to unsend it, but before I could make a decision, the message had already been read. There was no going back now.
Jungkook's response was silence, but I knew him well enough to know he wasn't going to ignore me. If anything, he was already on his way.
And that thought alone sent my pulse into chaos.
Minutes later, a knock at my door echoed through the apartment, each sound reverberating through my chest. My hands curled into fists at my sides, an attempt to suppress the flood of emotions building inside me. I hesitated for only a moment before pulling the door open, revealing him.
Jungkook stood there, dressed in his usual all-black attire, his sharp eyes scanning my face as if trying to decipher my intentions. He looked unreadable—calm, collected—but I knew better. I could see the restrained energy in the way he held himself, as if he was moments away from demanding answers.
"Y/N."
One word. Just my name. And it sent a ripple down my spine.
I exhaled slowly, forcing myself to hold his gaze. "Come in."
Jungkook stepped inside, his presence immediately consuming the space. He didn't need to speak for the tension to thicken; it was already suffocating. I turned away from him, leading him further inside before finally gathering the courage to say what had been burning inside me for too long.
"Jungkook... kiss me."
The words hung in the air, taunting, daring, challenging.
A slow, dark smirk curved his lips, but his eyes—his eyes turned feral.
"What was that?" His voice was quiet, almost teasing, but the underlying heat made my breath hitch.
I lifted my chin, determined not to show how unsteady I felt. "You heard me."
Jungkook took a step forward, his fingers grazing my jaw, tilting my face up to him. My breath stalled as his thumb dragged along my bottom lip, his touch both featherlight and possessive. His gaze flickered to my mouth before locking onto my eyes, searching—waiting for me to pull away.
I didn't.
And that was all the invitation he needed.
His lips crashed onto mine with a force that stole every coherent thought from my mind. It wasn't a kiss—it was an unspoken battle. His mouth moved over mine with ruthless intensity, his hands gripping my waist, pulling me flush against him. I gasped against his lips, and he took full advantage, deepening the kiss until I was drowning in him.
Heat. Need. Control.
It was intoxicating.
My fingers tangled in his hair, pulling, desperate to take back even a sliver of control, but Jungkook wasn't one to be overpowered. He responded with a low, approving growl, pressing me against the nearest wall. My back hit the surface with a soft thud, but I barely registered it, too consumed by the way he was kissing me—hungry, dominant, unrelenting.
When he finally pulled back, his lips were swollen, his breathing uneven. His eyes, dark and laced with something dangerous, searched mine. "Not here?" His voice was low, teasing, and dripping with amusement.
I swallowed hard, my legs barely holding me upright. "No... not here."
His smirk returned, this time full of mischief. "Then where, Y/N?"
His words sent a shiver through me, not from fear, but from something much more dangerous. I knew exactly where.
And I was going to make sure Aria saw it.
I grabbed Jungkook's wrist and dragged him down the hallway with more determination than I thought I had left in me. I wasn't going to let Aria's words echo in my head any longer. I wasn't going to let her smug face haunt me. I was going to prove her wrong.
The second we entered the open space of the hallway, I spotted Aria standing with her usual group of gossiping shadows. She was laughing, her voice dripping with self-importance—until she saw me.
Until she saw us.
Her gaze snapped to Jungkook, then to me, her smirk faltering just slightly.
Perfect.
Without hesitation, I turned to Jungkook, meeting his curious stare. "Kiss me."
This time, there was no hesitation. No teasing. No games.
Jungkook's hands were on me in an instant, one gripping my waist, the other threading through my hair as he pulled me in. His lips crushed against mine with the same fervor as before, except this time, it wasn't just for us. It was a statement. A declaration. A challenge.
The kiss burned, igniting something deep and primal within me. I let my arms wrap around his neck, pulling him impossibly closer, letting my body mold against his. His grip tightened, his hold possessive, as if he knew exactly what I was doing and had every intention of making sure Aria felt it.
Gasps echoed around us. Shocked murmurs. But I didn't care.
I broke the kiss first, just long enough to turn and face her.
Aria's face was twisted with disbelief and something close to fury.
I smiled. A slow, deliberate smirk as I lifted my hand and flipped her off.
Jungkook chuckled beside me, his voice dark with satisfaction. "Well, that was fun."
I wasn't done.
Before Aria could recover, I grabbed Jungkook's collar and pulled him back into me, capturing his lips once more. This time, it was for me. To prove to myself that I had the power to claim him, just as he had always claimed me.
Jungkook's hands slid down to my hips, his grip tightening as he deepened the kiss, his body pressing me against the wall. He kissed me like he owned me, like he had no intention of stopping, and in that moment—I let him.
When we finally pulled apart, we were both breathless, our lips swollen and our bodies burning from the contact.
I turned to Aria one last time, meeting her stunned, silent stare. "He's mine."
Final. Absolute. Undeniable.
Jungkook's hand slipped into mine as we walked away, leaving nothing but stunned silence in our wake. His thumb brushed against my skin, a silent promise in the simplest of gestures.
I had won.
But deep down, I knew—this was only the beginning.
