Someone submitted an application for the cafe. I wasn't really surprised given it was starting to get a little popular, but I still haven't checked the submissions in a while.
Which was probably a good thing, and a bad thing. Good because it allowed me to not stress over them for a while, and bad because now I have to read every single one.
I put my phone back into my pocket, entering the cafe with a raise of an eyebrow. Someone was already here for an interview? She looked about the same height, had light hair, and looked lively. Not too much younger than me, either.
"Hello." I spoke up, taking slow but steady strides over to the woman standing at the empty desk that Marie should've been at, but isn't.
"Uh, hi. Are you the guy I'm supposed to talk to for this interview?" She asked, holding up her paper. I took a step forwards and took it from her in a kind manner, trying not to be too rough, and looked over it for a bit. Letting out a hum, I shook my head and handed it back to her. "For your position, I'll have Marie check you out for your interview. It'll take a little, not too long."
The girl nodded. It took me going to the back and yelling for Marie to actually get her to come out of 'hiding'.
"Sorryy.. one of the customers got pissed and threw a drink at me. Emos scare me." Marie said, still wiping what seemed like a black coffee off of her apron. I shook my head to let her know she was fine before replying. "You're fine. I need you to take care of this nice woman, here. She's trying out for the position you have and I have somewhere else to be."
I got a look of approval from Marie before giving her the details and heading towards the door.
—. Marie's POV: —
This dumbass. He's making me take care of an interview while I'm covered in cold brew. I sighed, turning to the new employee. "Hey, hun. I apologize for the very.. unprofessional welcome. Please, follow me."
I took the woman over to one of the tables and has her sit down, sitting across from her. I had to squeeze into the chair, which was more than embarrassing enough. I think I might order new ones.
"Alright, can you tell me your name, age, why you want this position, and then a small introduction?"
"Uhh.. sure! My names vixen, vix for short," The woman started, seeming a little nervous. I adjusted my posture to a more comfortable position so she'd feel more relaxed and confident in herself.
"I'm 23.. and I'm trying for this position to kind of balance myself. Work towards my dream, y'know?" So far, her introduction was doing well. I gave her a soft bunny smile and nodded my head.
"Gotcha'. Well, my names Marie, or you can call me riri. I don't mind. I'm 25, and I work in an office but work here part time. Also a chef." I said in return, letting Vixen know who I am so she can feel more comfortable.
I inspected her face for a moment. She's really pretty, and I've always been weak around pretty women. But this is a workplace, and it's not like it's a high school crush. Or a crush at all. I reached into the pocket of my work shirt, taking out a pen, giving it a soft 'click' and flipping my arm over.
Just as I was about to speak, the doors to the cafe flew open, and two men walked in. The same guy from earlier, and a taller curly headed kid. His hair was a weird color gray.
Both me and Vixen gave each other a weird look before standing up, a little lost as to why they were there in the first place. That was until the curly headed 'kid' dragged his friend over by the ear.
"Hello, miss? My names Jordan. I brought my friend here to apologize for throwing his drink at you. Ain't that right, Sam?" The boy spoke up, nudging his friend to the front. 'Sam' looked annoyed, not wanting to be here. He nodded with a roll of his eyes and I folded my arms.
