Yn Pov
I wiped away my tears as I looked at myself on the mirror.
How did my life turn out to be like this? What did I do to deserve such a hellish life? Was I that unworthy?
All sorts of things were running in my mind as I cleaned my freshly cut wound.
Another night, another beating from the monster I got married to.
Yoon Minhyun.
The man who gave me hell everyday.
I went downstairs after cleaning my wound as I didn't want to make him more angry than I already did.
As I walked down to the silent living room, my heart was beating fast as I didn't know what to expect because anything could happen at anytime.
As I reached the couch, I found him sleeping or rather passed out on the couch.
"M-minhyun?" I called his name to confirm that he wasn't in his senses.
Run Yn, Run. You'll never get this opportunity again. Don't you want to escape from this hell? Go have a fresh start. Run.
A small voice whispered in the back of my mind. Despite my initial hesitance, I made the decision to heed to my inner self.
Summoning every ounce of strength I possessed, I made my way to the door, anticipating his commanding voice to call out at any moment. Miraculously, I escaped without any unwanted interruptions. With bated breath, I closed the door softly behind me and stood, gazing out at the open gate, left ajar by Minhyun.
Is this the moment of liberation that I had been longing for?
Without a second thought, I dashed towards the gate and beyond, my heart pounding in my chest. The pouring rain was obscuring my vision, but my determination remained unwavering. All that occupied my mind was the urgent need for escape.
I found myself in the midst of the bustling street, unsure of which direction to flee. I saw a speeding car coming towards me, the headlights glaring at me in the darkness. Despite my inner self telling me to move, I found myself rooted to the spot, incapable of movement. The impending collision seemed unavoidable, and in a moment of resignation, I closed my eyes, preparing for the fate that was presented to me.
As the sound of screeching tires filled the air, I braced myself for the impact before darkness engulfed me fully.
"Here we are," Jimin said, breaking my thoughts as we arrived at his apartment.
Stepping out of the car, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. Maybe this could be a fresh start for me.
For a moment I looked at Jimin, taking the grocery that he had bought on our way back home out of the car.
"Come on" He said softly, signaling me to go in. He opened the door and switched on the light.
"Welcome home," Jimin smiled warmly as he closed the door and placed the grocery bags on the counter.
I stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. As I stood there, I saw Jimin making his way towards me. He stopped infront of me keeping an appropriate distance between us.
"Yn, I know all this is too quick to take in. So much happened in such a small time and we're both not ready for what's ahead. What I'm trying to say is, please feel comfortable here okay? See this as your own home until you are better enough to be alone, and then we'll make plans for your stay. Deal?" he said waiting for a response.
