After leaving Cheryl at her house, Toni drove home, her mind buzzing with everything that had happened. She parked her car and walked into her house, greeted by the familiar sounds of her mom in the kitchen.

"Hey, Ma," Toni called out as she entered the kitchen.

Her mom turned around, smiling warmly. "Hey, sweetie. How was your first day at the new school?"

"It was... interesting," Toni replied, a small smile tugging at her lips as she thought about Cheryl. "Met some new people. I think I'll like it there."

They talked about her day as they sat down to dinner, the conversation flowing easily. Toni always appreciated these moments with her mom, where she could unwind and just be herself. After dinner, she headed upstairs, took a long, hot shower, and got ready for bed, already thinking about the next day.

The following morning, Toni was ready for school earlier than usual. She drove to Riverdale High, her thoughts drifting between her first day and what might happen today. As she walked through the school doors, she spotted Cheryl from across the hall. Their eyes met, and Cheryl gave her a subtle nod, which Toni returned with a small smile.

But before Toni could approach Cheryl, the girl from yesterday—Mya—walked up to her. Without hesitation, Mya kissed Toni on the cheek and wrapped her arms around her in a hug. Toni could feel Cheryl's eyes burning into her as Mya greeted her.

Cheryl stormed over, her expression cold and controlled, though Toni could see the anger simmering beneath the surface. "Who's your friend?" Cheryl asked, her voice laced with something sharp.

"Oh, this is Mya," Toni replied casually, sensing the tension but not backing down.

"Mmm, okay," Cheryl said, her tone unreadable. "Well, Toni, I'm having a party tonight. You and your... friend should come."

"Sure," Mya answered enthusiastically before Toni could respond. Toni smiled, though she could tell how furious Cheryl was, even if she tried to hide it. With a simple, "See you then," Cheryl walked away, leaving Toni more intrigued than ever.

Toni spent the rest of the school day focused on her classes, though her mind often wandered to Cheryl and the party later. After school, she headed to the mall, picking out something new to wear for the night. She chose a sleek outfit that made her feel confident, knowing that tonight might get interesting.

As the evening approached, Toni got ready, her excitement growing. When it was time, she drove to Cheryl's place, her pulse quickening as she walked up to the front door. The party was already in full swing when she entered. Music thumped through the house, and groups of people were scattered around, laughing and dancing.

As soon as she stepped inside, Toni noticed Cheryl's eyes on her, but before Cheryl could approach, Mya appeared by Toni's side, throwing her arms around her in a friendly, but very public, hug. Toni could see Cheryl's face darken from across the room.

"That bitch," Cheryl muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowing as she watched Mya cling to Toni. Reggie, who was dancing beside her, noticed Cheryl's mood but wisely chose to say nothing.

The night progressed, and soon, the music stopped as Veronica, always the life of the party, called for a round of "7 Minutes in Heaven." The group gathered in a circle, the anticipation high as the bottle spun round and round. When it was Toni's turn, the bottle spun and landed on Cheryl. The room buzzed with excitement as the two girls locked eyes, tension crackling between them.
CHERYLS POV

Cheryl arrived at school the next morning, still feeling the lingering tension from her encounter with Toni the day before. She brushed it off as she entered the building, her head held high, but her mind kept drifting back to that moment in the park—the way Toni had looked at her, the way her touch had sent shivers down Cheryl's spine. It was confusing and infuriating, and Cheryl wasn't used to being unsure of her feelings.
