~ZIA~

The way Zia's stomach felt as they rolled up to the lab should be illegal. She felt like barfing and crying all at the same time. She wasn't even sick, it was just dread for something to happen. It was like her future self was like NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!! Geez was she gonna meet an ugly dooming fate or some weird shit like that?

"Geez, you good?" Sarah asked again as Zia clenched her hands across her stomach.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Zia smiled queasily and removed her hands before willing the feeling to go away, which reluctantly it faded slightly.

The bus pulled to a stop and Ms. Clayton, our algebra teacher, stood up and yelled into her megaphone, "FILE OUTSIDE, OUR TOUR GUIDE IS WAITING!"

Zia rubbed her ear. The woman needed to learn about volume.

"She knows it's a megaphone right?" She groaned and stood up with the others as they filed out of the bus, and into the parking lot.

A woman in her late thirties walked up to them. She had fizzy blonde hair, glasses, and a wild look in her eyes like she had just downed five fireball shots.

"Hey! Welcome to the science lab!" She smiled before launching into a whole spiel about how important we are in the discoveries of our world and how science is never done. She also told us that we are only allowed to touch things that she touches as some of these specimens and other things are highly dangerous to others.

Zia wanted to pay attention but the dreadful feeling was back, she really should have listened to it. The feeling faded away to complete nothingness though, as if it knew Zia wouldn't listen.

The whole class walked into the place and Zia was slightly confused at what she saw. There was a whole mess in the lobby. Papers were everywhere and people were rushing around not sparing a glance at the paper mess. It was as if it wasn't there. Even the people and her class saw it and stepped away from the papers. The tour guide must have seen it because she rushed her pace.

The place wasn't all a mess, only the lobby area. The other areas were clean. The first room, it said bacterial room or something, had chains at a certain point and the class could only gaze and at the stuff from afar. There were bacterias and viruses in places with stuff strewn across the counters. Zia looked at one jar with floating stuff in it that looked alive and gross. There were microscopes and scientists gazing into them, some explaining to the class what they were doing.

"I'm looking at a bacterial swab of a patient to figure out the virus." The scientist explained and Zia glanced over to Sarah, who seemed invested.

"Shouldn't we be wearing masks or something?" Zia whispered to her and Sarah shrugged.

After a bit more exploring, the class had visited three more lab rooms. The cell room, this room was where scientists were trying to figure out more about the human body. The hazardous materials room, we were only allowed to look through a window for that one because hazardous chemicals were in the room I guess. And finally the medicine room, where people were trying to create better medicine and stuff.

Zia was sitting in a chair as the others talked and pointed at random signs. She couldn't stop thinking about the room they hadn't passed yet. It was closed off and scientists kept frantically exiting and entering it with quickened pace.

Zia picked up one of the papers on the floor and read it. What did they think was gonna happen. Throw a bunch of paper on the floor, someone's gonna fucking read it.

There wasn't anything special. It was mainly just a bunch of big science words. There was one sentence that stuck out to Zia.

Reminding that-
