"Open your eyes," mother said, as she stood over my bed. I sighed as I woke up... yay another school day,
"Can't I have five more minutes?" I ask,
"No, come on up you get," Mother smiled, I groaned and climbed out of bed, she left the room and I got ready for the day.
I went downstairs to eat breakfast with her, before jumping on the school bus.
The bus was filled with screaming and laughing students, everyone talking over everyone as they talked about what they got up to one the weekend.
The bus pulled up outside the school, I grabbed my school bag and walked towards my locker. How I wish I knew how today was going to turn out... then maybe I would have stayed home.
The morning started off fine, it was boring like most school days. Then we ate lunch, it wasn't until we got back to our classrooms that things took a change.
Loud bangs echoed through the corridors, screams followed. I heard footsteps running outside our door, loud thumps following shortly after. We all froze, before chaos erupted, desk and chairs were being pushed around, loud harsh whispers washed around the room. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing someone crying. The door opened,
"Jeremy," My teacher gasped, bang. Her body fell to the ground, screams followed... as did several other bangs, my body hit the floor before I could take a breath. I thought I would feel something, it was supposed to hurt wasn't it? That's what they said would happen if you ever got shot. But I felt nothing... I got told later that the police came, SWAT, and everyone else- I heard that Jemery died, the police got him and took him out. So many kids lost their lives that day, so many parents lost their child, family members lost a loved one... it was a horrible day for everyone. I wish I knew.
"Open your eyes," My mother begged, with tears down her face.
