"Please, Kook," Jimin pouted as he looked at his best friend, his eyes wide with a mix of hope and desperation.

Jungkook kept his eyes glued to the laptop screen, his fingers tapping away on the keyboard. "No," he replied flatly, the word cutting through the air like a cold blade.

Jimin felt a wave of frustration and anxiety wash over him, the rejection stinging more than he had anticipated. "Just one favor this time, Kook. I really need your help," he pleaded, his voice trembling slightly as the desperation seeped in.

Jungkook's fingers froze mid-type, his jaw tightening as he slowly turned to look at Jimin. His eyes, usually warm and full of affection, were now tinged with a reddish hue, betraying the exhaustion from sleepless nights spent on his research paper. "And then what?" Jungkook's voice was sharper than usual, laced with a bitterness that caught Jimin off guard. "After your ex-boyfriend finds out, do you think he'll get jealous?"

The question hung in the air like a ticking time bomb. Jimin blinked, his mind racing to process the unexpected accusation. "H-hey, I'm just-"

"Do you think if he becomes jealous, he'll come back to you and leave his girlfriend behind?" Jungkook's voice rose, and his knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists. His jaw was tight, and his eyes blazed with a mixture of anger and something else Jimin couldn't quite place.

Jimin's heart skipped a beat, confusion and disbelief swirling inside him. He stared at Jungkook, wide-eyed and horrified by the anger he saw in his best friend's face. "What?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. The words felt foreign on his tongue, like they didn't belong in a conversation with Jungkook.

Jungkook let out a bitter chuckle as he swiveled in his gaming chair to face Jimin fully. "Why? I'm right, aren't I?"

Jimin slowly adjusted himself on the bed, his pulse quickening. "Are you serious about that?" His voice trembled, and his hands balled into fists at his sides. "Do you really think I'm that low, that I would do something like this just to get back at that cheater?" Jimin stood up abruptly, looming over Jungkook, who was still seated and now staring up at him in stunned silence.

Jungkook's eyes widened at the intensity of Jimin's reaction, but he remained quiet, the words he wanted to say caught in his throat.

When Jungkook didn't respond, Jimin shook his head, feeling a heavy weight settle in his chest. "Well, I guess silence means yes," he muttered bitterly before storming out of Jungkook's bedroom, the door slamming shut behind him with a loud bang that echoed through the apartment.

The atmosphere in the small bar was thick with unspoken words and the clinking of glasses. Jungkook sat hunched over, his eyes fixated on the can of beer in front of him, as if it held the answers to all his problems.

"Are you okay, bro?" Mingyu's voice broke through the heavy silence, his concern evident in the way he leaned closer, but Jungkook didn't even glance at him. His gaze remained glued to the can, his thoughts a chaotic mess.

"Nothing's okay, Gyu," Jungkook replied quietly, his voice heavy with resignation before he tilted his head back and chugged down the remaining beer in one go, the bitterness lingering on his tongue.

Mingyu watched him with a frown, worry creasing his brow. "Ash, don't get drunk. You know that Jimin hates it when you're drunk." He pulled out his phone, ready to text Jimin to come and fetch Jungkook before things got out of hand.

Jungkook let out a hollow chuckle, the sound devoid of any real humor. "He's mad at me. He hasn't contacted me for almost a week now."

Mingyu's frown deepened. "Jimin? Mad at you?" He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "You're really drunk now. There's no way Jimin could be mad at you."
