The buzz of my phone vibrating across the bedside table startled me. I groaned, opening my eyes to the bright screen. It was Sylus, again. I felt a twinge of guilt as I noticed the numerous missed calls and texts from him over the past few days. I had been so caught up with work that I barely had time to breathe, let alone respond to his messages. With a heavy sigh, I silenced my phone and rolled over, intending to catch some sleep before another grueling day at work.
However, my plans for a quiet night were quickly interrupted. I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder, and I sat up, startled, to find Sylus standing in my bedroom. "Sweetie, you should really take a bath and change out of those work clothes," he said, concern etched on his handsome face. I was too tired to even ask how he managed to get into my place. Besides, seeing him here, in person, chasing away my exhaustion with that charming smile of his, was a welcome surprise.
"Sorry, I'm just gonna pass out," I complained, rubbing my eyes. His suggestion of a relaxing bath suddenly sounded appealing, and I knew I couldn't keep ignoring him. "Sweetie," he said, his voice soft and persuasive, "how about this: you take a bath while I whip up something tasty for dinner? My treat after all those neglected messages." I reluctantly agreed, knowing that refusing this thoughtful offer would be pointless anyway. Besides, the idea of a hot bath and a home-cooked meal was becoming more and more tempting by the second.
As I soaked in the tub, the stress of the past few days began to melt away. The scent of something delicious wafting in from the kitchen added to the sense of comfort that was slowly enveloping me. By the time I emerged from the bathroom, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, Sylus had set the table and poured us each a glass of wine. The dinner he cooked was incredible, and as we ate, the conversation flowed easily.
"So, when's your next rest day?" Sylus asked, setting down his fork and giving me his full attention. I told him it would be the upcoming Wednesday and Thursday. A playful smile appeared on his face as he asked, "And what would you like to do?" I yawned, the exhaustion from the past few days catching up to me. "Sleep," I answered without hesitation. Sylus laughed, that rich, warm laugh that always made me feel cherished. "Aside from sleeping, sweetie," he prodded, clearly enjoying this little game. "I don't know," I admitted, feeling a bit guilty that I hadn't put much thought into it. "Can I give you some suggestions?" he offered, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
The suggestions that followed were an enticing mix of romantic and adventurous. Sylus wanted to make sure that I would forget all about work during our time off. He suggested a candlelit dinner on the beach, followed by stargazing on a blanket under the night sky. He proposed a day trip to a nearby town, exploring hidden cafes and quaint bookshops. And, of course, he snuck in some flirty suggestions, like a couple's massage and a private picnic in a secluded spot, just the two of us.
As we talked and laughed, the tension of the past few days faded away. Sylus had a way of making me feel like the most important person in the room, and his infectious enthusiasm was contagious. Before I knew it, I was looking forward to our time together, eager to create new memories with him.
But, as always, reality intruded. After dinner, Sylus reluctantly announced that he had to get back to work. "I'll make it up to you on Wednesday, I promise," he said, standing up and pulling me into his arms. I felt a pang of guilt as he left. He had taken time out of his busy schedule to check up on me, and here he was, leaving to finish his work.
As he walked towards the door, he turned and asked, "Sweetie, where's my goodbye kiss?" I stood on my tiptoes and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. But before I could pull away, he pulled me close, his hands on my waist, and kissed me passionately. It was the kind of kiss that took my breath away and left my heart pounding. "See you on Wednesday, sweetie," he whispered, his smile dazzling. And with that, he was gone, leaving me standing there, a silly grin spreading across my face.
