When people look at you they never really know what they're looking at. Someone could be looking at you now and envy everything about you. They take one glance and believe you have it all made. That everything goes your way.
But they never truly know just how wrong they are.
The World Is Your Oyster! We've been fed this nonsense with a tube for years. A mantra to convince us to make the most out of life and do what we want.
Sounds easier said than done if you ask me.
But when we look at others and see them smile a smile we could never pull off. Or say the things we could never think of, we say that they have it made. We say they are living the dream life. That they won.
But do we really know that?
Can the happiest of people not be plagued by nightmares? Can the go getter not have a debt they're trying to settle. Can the person with every luxury not be forced to keep up an image?
You'd be surprised how much your reality is better than you think it is. You could simply call it.......... 𝔸𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕠𝕞𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕝.
"Girl you're going to be late. I told you that you should've left earlier." Amber scolded her pod mate.
A beautiful young lady sat in the chair of her spacial ship. She rolled her eyes at the green skinned woman that was using their digital communicator as a mirror for her makeup. She pressed a button to start her ship up. Smiling when it roared to life.
"I told you I had to get permission from Mother first." The brown skinned girl sighed as she typed in the coordinates of the planet she was supposed to be going to. She didn't necessarily want to but all of her pod mates were begging her to come. Hoping they'd find their other half's there.
"Mmm of course you did, Asmara. Mother's favorite isn't allowed to just go out whenever she pleases. We don't want her to worry." The girl mocked as she fluffed out her purple curls. Her tone was playful but she meant everything she said.
Asmara knew that.
And she hated it.
Mother seemed to always coddle her the most out of all of her pod mates. She was barely allowed to socialize on other planets. Let alone with the opposite gender. But she was always given whatever she wanted. Living a carefree life although it was lonely at times.
She never understood why she was treated so delicately but she learned to accept it. Although the teasing was annoying as it was sometimes not just jokes.
