Chapter-6

After releasing Min-Seok's hand, with a glare on his face Jeongguk asked him once again, "Mr. Yoon what are you doing right now?"
Min-seok glared right back, " It's nothing, I just have something to discuss with Taehyung. " He gritted out through his teeth.

"You may be on your lunch break, but remember that this is still a professional setting. Please take care of any personal matters after work. I'm sure that you understand what I mean." Saying so Jeongguk grabbed the smoothie cup placed on the table and turned to Taehyung and continued, "And Mr. Kim, Thank you for the coffee." Saying so he walked out of the office and waved his hand in acknowledgment when Taehyung said, "Oh, you're welcome."

Did he...just help me? Taehyung wondered. No way. He was probably just annoyed that his nap was annoyed. Dismissing his hopeful thoughts Taehyung turned towards Min-Seok who was glaring at him, his angry pheromones all over the place by now.

"I'll talk to you after work." He muttered and left from there. Which felt more like a threat than a passing comment. It made Taehyung shudder because it reminded him of the past that he doesn't want to remember and his sweet smell of honey and cinnamon soured in distress.

..... It's that same face again. Taehyung shivered at that thought.

*Flashback *

"Do you have any idea how miserable I am because of you?! I only married you because I PITIED you! Because I felt F*CKING SORRY for you! You want a f*cking divorce? Are you seeing someone? HOW DARE YOU ASK FOR A DIVORCE?! "

Min-seok shouted at Taehyung and swung his hand back as if aiming to hit him which made Taehyung cower in fear.

Thinking about the past events made Taehyung pale and tremble and break out in cold sweat. But he was snapped out of his panicked reverie when he felt a comforting hand on his shoulder and the soothing scent of lavender with a hint of milkiness to it filled his surroundings.

" Taehyung! " Mr. Kim...? "Do you have a minute?" Asked Seokjin with a smile on his handsome face ( WWH 🤭 sorry I couldn't help it😁)

"It's peppermint tea. It's better than coffee to calm your nerves." Seokjin said as he handed Taehyung a cup of it as they got seated on the table at the break room.

"Thank you Mr. Kim" Ever so grateful Taehyung replied.
"Didn't I tell you to call me Jin hyung instead of Mr. Kim, Taehyung-ah? All those formalities are making me feel so old when I'm still so young and handsome." Seokjin said with playfully narrowed eyes making Taehyung laugh and reply with a cute boxy smile on his face, "OK Jin hyung."
"Omo! You're so cute when you smile. You should smile more Taehyung-ah." Said Jin with a smile of his own making Taehyung laugh again.

"On the serious note you looked really pale back there. Did something happen?" Jin asked his face suddenly seriously in contrast to how he looked a few minutes back.

".... I guess I overworked a bit." Taehyung replied after taking a pause to not reveal anything.

"It's because you are so good at your job. But take it easy." Jin said with a kind smile on his face making Taehyung feel even more at ease with the Omega, "After giving birth I realized that health comes first." He continued. That comment made Taehyung remember something from the past.

That's right. Mr. Kim handed in his notice only a few months after coming back from his maternity leave. Something happened around that time.... But what? I can't exactly remember it.....

"How are you these days, Mr. Kim?" Taehyung asked him.

" Oh, you know just the usual.Mr. Oh won't leave me alone. He's been working me to the bone, saying that he had so much to do while I was on maternity leave." Jin said and with a smile he continued " But I'm hanging in there because of great coworkers like you,Taehyung. So don't try to do everything on your own. You can always come to me if you're struggling with something, that's what coworkers are for. I'll make you another cup of warm tea. "
