It was an awe-inspiring night in the mesmerizing city of Lucknow. The sky was a vast canvas splattered with twinkling stars, each one a silent witness to the unfolding drama below. On the terrace of a hospital, a young woman, just on the cusp of adulthood, pushed open the gate. The cool night air embraced her like a long-lost friend as she stepped out.

"Sir, what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice a delicate mix of concern and curiosity, as she saw a man standing alone, his gaze fixed on the heavens.

The man turned slowly, revealing a face etched with thoughts too heavy for the night to bear. "Oh, it's you, junior. I was just admiring this beautiful starry night, even without the moon," he said, his voice a soft murmur against the backdrop of the silent stars.

"Dr. Siddharth, you need to go home and get some rest. You have a meeting tomorrow morning. If you don't leave early, your manager will have your head," she said, trying to inject some levity into the situation.

Siddharth's face hardened slightly. "Miss Yashika, do you not know the proper way to address your seniors? You can't joke around like this," he replied, a hint of reprimand in his tone.

"Sorry, sir, but you really should go home and get some sleep. You need to be fresh for tomorrow's meeting," she insisted, her eyes pleading with him to heed her advice.

Siddharth sighed deeply, turning his gaze back to the sky. "Do you know something, Yashika?" he asked, his voice contemplative.

"What, sir?" Yashika replied, her curiosity piqued.

"Humans are never satisfied creatures. They never appreciate what they've achieved, nor do they celebrate it properly. Instead, they live in their past, mourning their invisible scars as if they were badges of honor. What do you think about that?" Siddharth asked, his voice filled with a sorrow that seemed to stretch across lifetimes.

Yashika thought for a moment before responding. "Humans are endowed with the highest power and ability to think. If we always know we can achieve more, how can we ever be satisfied? And as for pain, we love our lives and the people in them. That's why we hold on to the past," she said, her voice gentle yet firm.

"You may be right about growth and development, but you're wrong about the pain. Humans are so ensnared by their own minds that they celebrate their suffering more than their successes. It's like a wound that never heals, and they keep licking it like dogs," Siddharth replied, his words harsh but laced with a painful truth.

"That's a cruel way to put it, sir. Comparing humans to dogs licking their wounds? Eww!" Yashika exclaimed, a shiver running down her spine at the imagery.

"As a human, I can't escape this rule either. I suffer from it every day. You can't grow if you don't sacrifice your past and forget it. The past is a wound that will only heal when you forget it ever existed. That's the harsh reality," Siddharth said, his voice tinged with a bitterness that spoke of personal experience.

"Your perspective is always so different, sir. Not everyone can understand it," Yashika said with a soft smile, trying to lighten the mood.

"That's why you're my junior, Miss Yashika. I like that about you. I've always played the role of a cheerful, non-depressed person, but you're the one in front of whom I can stop pretending and be my real self, even if just for a moment," Siddharth said, stepping closer to her, his eyes searching hers.

They were inches away from a kiss when Yashika suddenly stepped back, moving towards the door. "Sir, we shouldn't. We're at work," she said with a playful smile, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

They both laughed, the sound echoing through the night, and descended the stairs, leaving the hospital behind.
