Baking

No one's POV:(at the bunker)
Poppy and Branch are cuddling in bed peacefully, just enjoying each other's company. Suddenly, Branch feels Poppy get up and out of bed, and he opens his eyes to see her walking out of his room.

"Where are you going, Poppifer?"

Poppy suddenly turns around, smiling at him.

"I'm going to bake myself some cupcakes. Wanna come with?"

"I wanna come everywhere with you. So of course."

Branch gets out of bed before walking over to Poppy and gently placing his hand in hers. They walk to Branch's kitchen together.

Once there, Poppy takes out the flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs, oil, milk, butter, and vanilla extract. She starts adding the ingredients to her bowl, completely winging it. Branch notices this and slowly walks over to Poppy, placing his hands over hers.

"Branch, what are you doing?"

"I think I should help you. Not that I don't trust you, because I do! I just feel like you winging it might make them not turn out the greatest."

Poppy gently smiles at him.

"Sure, you can help me. Can you grab the baking soda from the cabinet? I forgot it earlier."

"Sure, angel."

Branch walks over to his cabinet and looks around until he spots the baking soda. He grabs it from the shelf and hands it to Poppy.

"Okay, next, we need the flour. 2 cups should do it, right Branchifer?"

"Sure. That should be enough."

Poppy slowly adds 2 cups of flour to the mixture, getting a little on her hands.

After adding all the ingredients in the bowl, putting the liners into the pan, and putting the batter into the pan, Poppy and Branch put the pan into the oven to cook for 30 minutes.

Branch looks at Poppy, a smile on his face.

"So, what should we do for the next 30 minutes?" Poppy asks.

"I have a couple ideas." Branch replies, a smirk present on his face.

He slowly walks over to Poppy, taking his hands in hers before cupping her face and kissing her. Poppy smiles through the kiss before wrapping her arms around his neck, deepening it.

After 30 minutes of just kissing each other and cuddling, the cupcakes are done! Poppy and Branch grab the frosting and get to decorating.

A little while later, the cupcakes are done, and Poppy and Branch are about to try one.

Poppy holds hers up before smiling.

"Ready, Branchifer?"

Branch holds up his before responding.

"Ready, Poppifer!"

They both take a bite at the same time, and the looks on their faces say it all. The cupcakes are REALLY good.

"This is amazing!" Poppy says, mouth full of cake.

"It really is." Branch replies.

"But, I know something even better than these cupcakes." Poppy says.

"And what would that be?" Branch asks.

Poppy walks over to Branch before gently pecking his lips.

"That's better than any cupcake in the world." Poppy says, smiling.

"I couldn't agree more, princess." Branch replies.

Branch grabs Poppy's arms, bringing her in for another kiss. They both smile through the kiss, knowing they have a baking partner for life.
