During lunch break at Brine Technology Company, Rei spotted his new brunette friend as he was refilling his cup of coffee. He decided to engage himself in small chat before going back to drown himself in all the work Kyle gave him prior.
"Hey Alan" he greeted audibly just as Alan walked by. Alan turned to look at him and he smiled, "Hey, you've been here for at least a month now and from the way you carry yourself I can guess that you're finally used to the work"
"Yeah, I had no choice either way as it was inevitable" they chuckled in low volumes. Alan, himself, was holding a box of doughnuts and an iced Americano to which they decided to sit at a table and help themselves to.
"How come you are suddenly chill about the workload?" Alan asked and Rei just shrugged nonchalantly, taking a bite off a doughnut and replying, "You said more work leads to high pay, so i thought it over and was like 'Well, it won't hurt to get a high pay atleast' so I put my act together, got used to the job and smiled brightly for kyle to get the implication that i like working even though I don't really."
There was a brief silence of about a second before they broke into giggles, "What?" Alan asked with a wide smile, laughter still erupting from the tip of his tongue. Rei shrugged and smiled, his charisma had once again trapped another worker soon to be admirer. This is what made him very popular in his last job, well, before he turned into 'blueberry' and was working at the mall.
He quite missed his coworkers and his neighbors and family. But, there wasn't anything he could do—Vani had told him before that 'Rei' lost his parents a very long time ago and never bothered searching for them as he decided to live his own life. Now that he is here, he practically had no home and family which was quite upsetting, but nevertheless to the back of the mind do those thoughts live.

Meanwhile, in a quite friendly neighborhood in Reld town, there was a family who resided in a peach painted bungalow.
In the house, a young male of sixteen years headed for the door; he couldn't bear overlooking of the tense atmosphere in the house anymore. Ever since his second elder brother disappeared, his parents, especially his mother, have been constantly anxious and uneasy. He hated the fact that his once bright and cheery mother had now turned into a mess of tears and tissues and blankets and tv.
Just as he was about to open the door he heard his mother's frantic voice, "Where are you going?!"
He replied, "I'll take a walk to the park and before you say it I know, I will be extra mindful of my surroundings and will not wander on unknown grounds"
He turned around swiftly and left. His mother has been so overprotective of him and his remaining siblings ever since their brother disappeared. It almost felt suffocating. His mother always gave special attention to their brother through his whole growing up stage. She took care of him and his twin sister a lot too but there was obviously a smidgen bit of affection she showed for their elder brother; this was because she had already almost lost him once and she promised herself that she would never feel that way again—Feeling like a piece of her soul had just been harshly cut and yanked away from her other pieces. Yet, there she was on the sofa in their living room, weeping on the inside for the loss of her son whom she shared a special connection with.
Their father was also affected,he tried his best to put himself together and take care of his wife, but it wasn't particularly easy as he was still in the process of healing.
Their first brother? He hadn't even been told yet. He was working in a law firm and they didn't want to stress him out as he had a case at the time they first realized. Now, his case has been dealt with and yet they haven't told him as no one was brave enough to bring up the topic again.
The raven haired sixteen year old who had been post in thoughts and had now made his way unto the, thankfully, unoccupied swing. He swayed back and forth gently and raised his head up to view the sky. It was nearing evening so it had already started to turn a lightish purple.
He thought again, about how they searched everywhere, about how his classmates looked at him in pity, about how his brother's coworkers came to ask about him continuously, about how his mother seemed so lost ever since the reveal of the disappearance, about how things weren't just the same and about how he hated it.
"Foxx"
The swing stopped as a mildly veiny hand held unto the chain. Foxx opened his eyes and looked at the figure who dared disturb his peace and was met with the handsome face of Golden Olive High's Golden boy, Fischer Baynette.
