Growing up is a tough challenge, a tricky mistery, especially when you live separated from your loved ones, or at least the ones you know. I technically only have my mother, never had any siblings, apparently I have cousins, but they live quite far, in England to be precise. As for me, I live in Bulgaria, in the East wing of the Durmstrang school of magic, before finally settling down in London my mother was travelling a lot, and because her daughter was a "troublemaker" with too much energy, she couldn't travel with me by her side. So I just ended up in a quite strange school with very specific boys.

I am what we call in our world, a pureblood, apparently my family is high ranked in the wizard world but my mother never talked about them, she is quite the woman, very humble and likes to keep her secrets, my grandpa lives in France so I dont see him anymore, he is the only one my mother will willingly talk about, I saw him last Christmas for my grandmas 70th birthday and that day they almost convinced mother to send me to Beauxbatons.

So here I am, in the hospital wing, with my mother in front of me, our owl on her arm with a letter in her beak. My body was still sore from the brutal quidditch practice, boys in here might be pretty but no matter your size they will try to win even if it means breaking the bones of your team mate.

"Mom... It's not the first time I fell from my broom, I know it was violent but why are you here?"

The elegantly dressed woman looked at her daughter with her dark brown eyes, the little sparkle well known to her indicating something will happen, either now, or in the next few hours.
"Well first of all, I know you love this sport and you are good at it, although Karkaroff promised me to keep you off the game before we understand some of your.. problems, I'm actually not here for that, you got a letter"

Amethyst flew above the bed dropping the letter on her knees, the girl moved her dark eyes from her mother to the letter and did a weird expression after seeing the red wax that was seeling the paper together.

"Hogwarts? The school you went to..." She looked up confused, trying to read any possible information in her mother's eyes, " I'm already here... Why would I get a letter?".

"Dumbledore knows it, and he also knows how talented you are, listen you don't have to do it, you don't even have to open the letter, I'm sure he wants you to go, it's your choice, but you could finally live with me and be closer to your family".

"If I choose to go... I will never come back here right? Never study here again? I see it in your eyes mom... You have a connection and you'd love me there".
"Mhh I know you can't read minds but sometimes you scare me kiddo, you're right I would like you there, near me".

"Can I at least come visit Vlad, Aleksandar and Dima during the summer holidays...?".
A funny look on her mother's face appeared "And which of those three should I be the most worried about?".
"MOM! Please stop always assuming, besides, you should be more scared for them than for me".
"That's my girl, well I will go speak to the head master, let you process the information, maybe talk to your friends, I will be in the professors room, take your time", the loud noise of her heels echoed in the room.

Soon after, Aleksandar and Dima sprinted into the room and jumped on her bed, squishing her against there big shoulders, one of them wrapped her in his sweater, the other was trying to find her shoes.
"Where are your shoes?" "We saw your mom... Now I understand why you are so gorgeous", the girl blushed internally and looked at him weirdly, "So hun, what happened, why is mom'a here?" Dima asked.

She lined her head on his shoulder, her head started spinning again but she tried to stay focused on her answer,
"They want me to transfer schools... Go back to England", both as if hit looked at her immediately trying to understand if what there girl just said was a joke, "Not happening, nu uh if you leave us first of all, the school will burn, second we wont win any quidditch cup anymore AND we will miss you so freaking much".
The girl smiled and hugged them both, then she felt something warm on her ankle, she realized Aleks was trying to put on her shoes.
"Where are we going? And where on earth is Vlad???".
"Oh, don't worry, probably still trying to kick Victor's ass for hurting you during practice".
"Ow.... That's... Risky".
"Yeah well, you know Vlad, now let's go make you miss this school even more".

A few sprints and jokes later

Raven was chatting with her friends, even holding hands with Vlad who was still hardly breathing because of his fight, little droplets of blood on his wrist.

They knew that they could visit her, other way around could be difficult, but the teachers loved her so there was a chance, they always send owls to each others, make plans in the country side, invite her to family gatherings since hers was very far away, but that could end, and they were scared to loose there little birdie, who could brighten there darkest days. The girl with her brown eyes, dark hair and beautiful smile could charm anyone, looking at her made them happy, her eyes almost pitch black, but when you look closely, a tiny little spot right in the middle of her left eye, a gray colour trying with each year to grow, making her eyes almost as unique as her personality, she was different and they loved it.

Raven's new adventure truly started when she saw her mother, in her black suit, in the big entry hall of the school, talking to the headmaster and a person she didn't recognised.

"Professor, mom, I think I'm ready, or at least I have my things ready to be taken if I have to".
Her mother looked at her, the turned her head to the old man, "Sir, this is my daughter Raven and her friends"
"Nice to meet you young lady, I have to say I did not expect you to look as similar to your mother as you do, it's strange even, you took everything of her beauty"
"

Oh... Thank you sir, are you Professor Dumbledore?"
"I am indeed, I will be taking your luggage directly to our school if you don't need what's inside, you can decide if you want to go for the last two weeks of the holidays with your mother, or go with me and get used to our school"

She turned her head to her mother searching for the correct answer, " If its possible, I'd like to catch up the time I didn't have with my family till now sir".
"Of course young lady, in that case, he did a quick wand movement and her stuff disappeared, "I'll see you in two weeks"

That was one goodbye, now she had to face reality.
The boys didn't need her to speak, they all one by one hugged her very tightly whispering goodbyes to her ear, Dimitri was the last one and when the others werent looking he placed a small peck in the corner of her lips, "I will miss you, do not forget about us please".
The girl gently hugged him back but stayed quiet.
She then looked at her friends one last time, grabbed her mothers arm and POUF, instead of her standing in front of them were 3 letters, signed by Raven.
