Maia led the group through the dense forest, her eyes scanning the terrain with a mix of familiarity and caution. The sunlight filtering through the canopy above cast dappled shadows on the forest floor, making it seem like the trees themselves were watching their every move.
"Stay close," Maia warned, her voice barely above a whisper. "The path narrows ahead."
Azran fell into step beside her, his eyes roving the surroundings with a practiced air of vigilance. Karin, in her fox warrior form, padded silently alongside Esther, who clutched a sturdy wooden staff adorned with small, glowing runes. Tanya brought up the rear, her dark elf eyes scanning the trees for any sign of danger, her sniper rifle at the ready.
As they walked, the sound of rushing water grew louder, and the air filled with a fine mist. Maia pushed aside a curtain of vines, revealing a breathtaking waterfall. The torrent of water cascaded down a rocky face, creating a veil of spray that surrounded them like a mystical aura.
Maia: This is it. The secret passage into the kingdom.
Azran's gaze locked onto the waterfall.
Azran: The passage is behind the falls?
Maia: [nods] A hidden entrance, known only to a select few. We'll need to be quick and quiet once we're inside."
Karin's ears perked up, her tail twitching with excitement. Tanya shouldered her rifle, her eyes never leaving the surrounding trees. Esther's hands glowed with a soft, white light, ready to heal any wounds that might arise.
With a deep breath, Maia led the group toward the waterfall, the roar of the water growing louder as they stepped into the veil of spray.
As they stepped through the veil of the waterfall, they beheld the breathtaking beauty of Egypt. Before them lay a sprawling city of golden sandstone and polished marble, with towering pyramids that pierced the sky like shards of sunlight.
The Nile River flowed gently through the city's heart, its tranquil waters reflecting the vibrant hues of temples, palaces, and marketplaces. Obelisks and sphinxes stood sentinel, guarding ancient secrets and mysteries.
Palm trees swayed in the breeze, their leafy crowns rustling softly against the architecture's intricate carvings and hieroglyphics. The air shimmered with a warm, golden light, as if the very essence of the sun had been distilled within the city.
Maia: The castle of the pharaoh lies ahead. We must be careful. Khafre, the pharaoh, has a powerful sorcerer named Neb who serves him. Neb's magic is not to be underestimated.
She paused, her eyes scanning the rooftops and alleys.
Maia: We'll need to keep a low profile and avoid drawing attention to ourselves. The castle's guards are loyal and well-trained, but Neb's presence makes them even more formidable.
Azran's eyes narrowed.
Azran: What can you tell us about Neb's abilities?
Maia's expression turned grave.
Maia: Neb wields dark magic...
Azran: [Grins] Dark magic?
Maia: [Gasps]
Azran: I have a brother that goes by the name of Dusk the ruin prince, I think I can a little "dark magic."
Azran launched himself forward, sprinting toward the castle with reckless abandon.
Maia's face turned beet red with fury.
Maia: What's wrong with him?! [exclaimed, turning to Karin and Esther]
