I wanted to go to something other than that boarding school but anywhere is better than here. I slipped on the ring, bearing the family crest, as soft footsteps approached his bedroom door-a gentle knock followed in their footsteps.
"Orion is that you?"
"Yeah, can I come in?"
"Of course." My little brother walked over and sat on the bed. "Do you have to go? I don't want to be left here alone." I sat next to him, wrapping my arms around his body.
"I'm sorry." I removed my jacket from my shoulders and handed it to him. "Just think you'll be at that school next year. You know mum's rules when you're eleven you are sent off to that boarding school."
"Really?"
"Yeah, then you'll be safe. Just don't make Mum angry and follow the rules. If you don't get her mad you'll be safe."
"Promise?..."
"Promise." I helped my brother off the bed. "Come on, we have to go to the station."Orion laughed, following me downstairs.

My mother was a scary woman, though others didn't realise it. She always wears her ginger hair in a bun and she's always in a black gown. We are rich after all. She doesn't like me. She's happy to see me go. My father stood by her side. I look more like him while Orion looks like my mother.
"Would you hurry up we haven't got all day."
"Yes, mother." I did my best to be polite although I couldn't help rolling my eyes at her.
"Do not roll your eyes at me!" Her hand struck my face. "Now when you are at that school there are some people to avoid."
"And who's that?"
"If they have the last name Robertson or Madocks you aren't to be friends with them. You already know Aaron Hayes so you are to be friends with him and his friends."
"Yeah no. Can we go now?""Remember your manners."I rolled my eyes, slumping into the car. My brother sat next to me, still half asleep.

I grabbed my bags as the train pulled into the station. My mother stood by the wall, glaring at a woman across the station. I felt a hand grab my wrist.
"What Orion i have to go."
"Look after him for me."He placed a stuffed animal in my hand. I knew it was his favourite, a small eagle I gave him when he was 5.
"Of course buddy."I held the toy tightly and stepped onto the train.

The vast majority of train compartments were full. The one free compartment still had 3 boys in it. They were each so different; one with red hair and dark eyes, black hair and green eyes. The third one had the most beautiful hair I'd ever seen. It was an ashy blonde with silver eyes. I knocked on the train compartment door and poked my head through. The redhead looked straight up at me.
"I recognise you." He said.
"Likewise but where from?"
"You're Violet Miller's son, aren't you?"
"One of them. I'm Evrin. You're Ethan Madocks, aren't you?"
"Yes! Sit down I'll introduce you to these lot."
"Alright."My mum warned me about his family but he seemed nice as another. I couldn't keep my eye off the boy with blonde hair.
"The boy with black hair is Luke Underhill" He gave a short wave not looking up from his chess game. "The Blonde Boy is Theodore Robinson although he probably won't say much, Bad experience with the upper class."
"Oh alright, it's lovely to meet you all."
"It's a bit weird seeing someone so wealthy shorten words." Theo finally looked up staring directly at me."
"Well, I don't care about my relationship to the rich. Bad experience after all."
"Is that so?"
"Ethan said you had a bad experience with a rich person."
"They don't like the working class."
"You seem cool, what sort of things do you like?" I walked over to him, sitting down.
"Books and music. It's not interesting."
"I think it is."We talked for hours after that.

We headed to our dorm room, each claiming a bed. The walls were painted a deep blue and elegant rugs draped across the floor. Luke kept rambling about the forest behind the school, creating all sorts of theories about what was in there as Ethan sat there sketching. Theo looked exhausted. I could see it in his eyes as he sat on my bed. All I could think about was if my brother was alright back home. I sat down on my bed next to Theo.

"Evrin are you okay?"His voice was quiet in my ear though it was still soft. He looked at me like I had just broken into a million pieces. Fragile.
"Yeah, I'm fine just tired."The other boys headed off to the common room leaving us alone. Theo headed to his bed, opening a book.
"Are you sure you're alright?"I ignored him, focusing on the Stuffed eagle on my bedside table. I could still see him walking over, joining me on the bed.
"It's nothing I'm just going to go to bed."Theo sat under the covers with me anyway. We both fell asleep even as the others came back to the dorm.
