Today was supposed to be one of the best days of my life from academic aspects, except, it wasn't. I was excited for the result and waited a whole month expecting the first position I secured as always. I had been the topper of my class since kindergarten until this year. When the results finally came, I was disturbed to know that a nobody from my class took the first position. She wasn't even smart. Everyone was applauding for her and not for me. Everyone was giving her attention and not me. In rage, I threw the result card I had in my hands. And I swear I saw her teasingly smirking at me. "You asshole!" I shouted at her while pointing my finger at her. She walked towards me so that we were standing ear to ear. She whispered, "calm down, princess" and in response all I could do was feel my face getting hotter. It's like her words had the power to control me.
