*Red's POV*
"Come on Red wake up!" My mom said as I woke up.
"Today is the day. Go now with your friends and choose your starter Pokemon. Quick"
"Ok mom. Relax...."I said as I started to brush my teeth.
Today is the day, just choose your Pokemon and have a perfect adventure. I get to spend about a year with Leaf, how exciting. But Paul and Zoe are coming too. Who cares we four were best friends from childhood. When time comes I'm sure that I'll be able to tell Leaf about my feelings soon or later....
I got ready and came down for breakfast. Mom has made blueberry cakes. My favourite. "So" my mom suddenly spoke " how exciting are you Red?"
"I actually don't know myself." I said as I had a bite." I just know it's gonna be awesome you know"
"Your dad was as excited as you are now." Mom said as her smile faded away. I know it has been hard for her to manage. Then she smiled at me.."so....what's gonna be your starter Pokemon?"she asked
" Charmandar mom obviously" I said. I know how much I love charmandar from childhood.
"Ok then" Mom said " time to go to Leaf's house"
Leaf. I suddenly blushed remembering I needed to go to her home. The four of us planned it already.
"Goodbye mom" I said waving at her
"Goodbye son. Stay safe and be careful. I love you" she said wiping her tears.
"I love you too mom" I said as I started for Leaf's house
