Stranded...

Chapter 2

*Flashback*

-5 Years earlier-

Kaleb’s Point of View:

 I can’t frigging believe my Dad is forcing me to go fishing with him. Not only that, but he is hauling my best friend and half-brother along too for some “man-time”. I’m only 12! My best friend, Zachariah, and I were meant to play video games for the weekend because his parents were out of town and he was staying over at mine. We also planned to do a bit of skateboarding to get out of the house.

But my embarrassing Dad had to go and stick his nose in and suggest fishing! Forcibly! Jesus Christ, that man is persistent.

“Dude, we’re leaving, get your butt in the car!” yelled Flynn, my 11 year old half brother.

“Yeah, I’ll be right down”, I bellowed back.

I rushed down the stairs and stopped momentarily to pack my Nintendo Ds, just in case. The car was full of fishing equipment and Zach and Flynn were talking to my Dad, who was getting ready to drive off.

I hopped in the back of the jeep, plugged my ears with my IPod headphones and just stared out the window.

“Kaleb, what’s up son”? Questioned my dad.

“Oh nothing Dad, Just looking forward for fishing”

“That’s my boy”

I couldn’t disappoint my Dad; guess I would have to keep it to myself.

After half an hour, we finally reached the coast. It looked like there was going to be a storm, because the clouds were a really dark grey and the wind was strong.

“Wooah Kaleb, the view is awesome” said Zach.

“Yeah, it kinda is”.

I had to admit, the view was actually nice. The water was bright against the dark clouds looming ahead and the ocean contained several boats and vessels, all fishing probably. Cliffs surrounded it and casted a faint shadow across.

“Kinda?!, Dude, that girl is lying naked on a boat with her tits out , how is that not full-on awesome?!”

“Oh … er …. Yeah, totally”

So Zach was talking about a naked girl instead of the actual view. Typical.

As much as I wanted to agree with him, I couldn’t. I wasn’t really interested in girls at the moment, all I wanted to do was study or play video games…so yeah, I was the typical nerd. Zach, on the other hand had his hormones kicking in, and was obsessed with the female body. He was so much taller than me and his voice had broken. I still looked about 9.

Well at least I’m smarter than him, that’s probably the only thing going for me.

We moved our boat out to sea, and hopped in – our fishing rods at the ready. It was starting to rain but luckily Dad had packed us some raincoats.

“Come on boys, let’s start fishing!”

After catching at least 10 fish, we decided it was time to head back home. Surprisingly I actually enjoyed myself and didn’t need to take out my DS at all. Guess Dads really do know best.

Suddenly, the boat swerved against the strong gale. I looked back to shore to realise that we were way out at sea and it would take around 20 minutes to reach back.

“Dad, Lets go back now before we die or something”, said Flynn.

“Don’t worry sonny, Nothings gonna happen, we just gotta manoeuvre the boat around and we’ll be back home in no time” Dad cried against the rain.  

“But Dad, look at that big wave”

I turned my head and noticed that a huge wave was careering towards our boat. No.

“DAD!!” I screamed.

The wave engulfed the boat and all 4 of us fell into the sea. My heart was beating so fast, I thought it would explode, I was so frightened. I doggy-paddled to keep myself afloat , I knew how to swim but I didn’t think this was the time to show-off my impressive skills.

“DAD, HELP ME!” I heard Flynn cry.

I swam over to where I heard Flynn’s voice and reached over to take his arm.

“Flynn, we gotta go find Zach and Dad”, I said.

“Kaleb, I’m scared, what happened?”

“We fell into the sea, but don’t worry, nothing is going to happen, we just gotta find Zach and Dad to make sure their okay too”, I comforted him.

I grabbed Flynn’s hand and we both swam over to the boat to search for Zach and Dad”

“DAD! ZACH!” I screamed.

“OVER HERE”, a faint voice cried out over to my left.

Both Flynn and I swam over to the voice to find Zach holding onto my Dad, who looked like he was passed out.

“Quick, get him on the boat”

“What about us?!” Zach said.

“We’ll get on after we get him on, then we have to wait until the storm settles” I said.

All 3 of us dragged Dad through the angry water and found the partially wrecked boat. It took all of our energy to push Dad’s heavy weight onto the boat but we finally did it.

“Come on, Flynn it’s your turn”

“But what about that wave behind you” Flynn whispered against my cheek, shaking.

I couldn’t even turn around quick enough before the ginormous wave engulfed all three of us and swallowed our bodies... Everything soon blacked out.

Its kinda short , but I need to have a few chapters to lead up to the bit where Sapphire and the boys meet- which is probably the main bit. 

In case your wondering what the boys look like, they will be described when Sapphire actually meets them, and also its not a predictable story where the guy gets the girl , they get married, the end. It has a load of plot twists and surprises, so please keep reading C:

Another thing, in case your wondering why Sapphire was so quick to want to break up with James , Its because she is quite an impulsive character , she's pretty stupid and she doesn't really understand 'Boys' that much in general, cause the only guy she has ever been with is James.

Oh and another thing , Flynn is portrayed as an 11 year old, but your probably wondering why he acts so "babyish" and why his brother treats him like a  small child .. No, he does not have some mental disorder, he is just really timid and he is the youngest in the family so they all treat him as a baby still. But yeah..hope thats not confusing. x]
