"Eh, so sorry" With that both parents stared at me for a few minutes and then the platinum blonde began to walk over to her...lover? Scanning both of their hands and nodding once, noting the rings. Hearing something, this causes me to turn my head to the left seeing the redhead only taking a few glancing shots and soon looking back to her parents.
*Sigh* "Carmine, was it?" Seeing her face shifting from being shy to tensing up then narrowing in the span of a few seconds was amusing to me, "how do y-" Cutting her off and answering "Heard your kinsmen say it." Seeing her eyes narrow, and then she stared at me with an odd look after a few seconds and sighing once more, she then opened her mouth, probably to ask another question. "Yes, yes it Is... Also, who says kinsmen? And where the hell did you come from?"
Shrugging my shoulders in response probably wasn't what she wanted. "Eh, tell you later."
Looking for an excuse to be anywhere but here; Both the long-haired redhead and I heard the burly man call out to us. "Hey, kid, sweetheart!" turning our heads to see the couple walking towards us. They stop a few feet in front of me.
After a few short seconds of silence, the blondie spoke up. "So, before we drop you off at the guard station, can we get a name?" nodding and quickly responding. "Cyrus, Cyrus Nix" another few seconds passed almost as awkward as the initial few when I first got here; my response was involuntarily. Beginning to tense, and my eyes once again shifted downwards. "I was named after a king, as for my last name..." some tension was dissipated because of the lovely blonde. "Oh, what an odd, but unique name" looking back up to her, I give a grin, albeit a weak one. "Uh...Tha-thank you, may I know of yours and your husbands?" She smiled, "Well, I'm Canary and this is my darling: slate," I shift my gaze to the burly man, he gives me a nod, and I respond much the same. "...and as you are already... acquainted with our little firecracker, carmine" Turing my head left again to see the young girl give a reserved wave. With introductions out of the way, I decided to get out of their hair as soon as possible.
"Right, well, nice to meet the lot of y'all. Now, would kindly point me the right way to some one of authority who could help with my...predicament." The members of this little posse that wasn't me either gave me a smirk which was from the older member, and in the case of their daughter a giggle. Titling my head to the right " wonder why they...' almost facepalming in embarrassment I then spoke up again "let me guess, one or both of y'all are a part of this here village's governing body?"
The man built like a strongman spoke up. Though terrifying this man looks, he seems more or less a gentle giant. "Yes, both me and my wife are retired Huntsmen. We are now the captain and vice-captain of this outpost town." 'Well shit, thank the lord I wasn't an ass to any of them... I think' "Ah, well then captain Flare, would you show me the way to your office, if that wouldn't be an issue sir." and we stared at each other for a few seconds if I had to guess as to the way he was probably analyzing my intentions. Thankfully, I didn't come across as a threat. "Okay kid, follow me." with that we were finally on our way to the town.
Walking closer to town, from what I can see is the town has a few large homesteads outside, a large stone wall with a wooden gate and guards with futuristic looking rifles. 'Ouuu, Me gusta lo que verlo.'
'Weirdo'
'Hmph' slightly growling under my breath at the tenant that lives in my...head? Soul?... ugh, whatever. Anyway, we were at the gate and overheard the gate guard and Mr. Flare's convo. "Captain and Vice-Captain, Carmine, who's the plus one sir, Ma'am." questioning the family of warriors the father of said family began to address the guard "Private Small, the kid is a stray, ..." I snorted at the 'stray' "... I'm taking in for questioning, expect more stragglers looking for him or anything worse." The guard nodded and signaled the men at the top of the wall to raise the gate.
