Character ideas!

Hello all!

Thank you to everyone who's already applied I love you all xx still hoping for a few more so tell your friends spread the word etc etc!!! Would be super appreciated.

I'm putting some character ideas below in case anyone is lacking inspiration.

KEY:
(HTM) = human to merfolk
(H) = human
(M) = merfolk
(H/M) = human or merfolk

THE OUT-OF-TOWNER (HTM)
Whether from another country entirely or just a different part of Australia, this character is an outsider in Warragum. They may be blissfully oblivious to expectations or traditions, or constantly anxious about blending in. Either way, they need to sort out this mermaid issue before they have to leave town. The clock is ticking.

THE BRAIN CHILD (HTM, H/M)
This character is intelligent beyond their years and the first person to be turned to when a question or concern arises. They're likely more of a thinker than a doer, and can be overly anxious or critical, but no one can solve a problem like them.

THE RISK TAKER (HTM, M)
Unserious to their very core, this character never seems to grasp the importance of any situation and is always chasing that next high, no matter the risks or consequences. They're fun-loving and adventurous, but cause more trouble than necessary.

THE STAR ATHLETE (HTM)
Formerly a rising star in their sport, this character had a spanner thrown in the works when they inconveniently got turned into a fish (their words, not mine). Now desperate to get their old life back, they'll do whatever it takes to solve the mystery and regain their fully human form.

THE GOLDEN BOY (HTM, M)
Whether he's merfolk or human, this character is loved by all in his community. He's charming and kind, and something of a people pleaser. Maybe he has a deep dark secret or past, or concealed anger issues, or maybe he's just a sweetie pie through and through.

THE LEADER (M)
A significant figure in the local mer-community, this character is the first to step up and take charge when an issue arises. Calm and level-headed with a lot of influence, but possibly too commanding at times, they've taken it upon themselves to sort this whole mess out.

THE FLOP (HTM)
More of an inside person, this character is disgruntled by their sudden new abilities and vulnerability to water. They're slightly inept when it comes to anything that can't be done in the safety of their room, but they try their best. 

THE ANTAGONIST (HTM)
Unlike the others, this character is thrilled with their new powers, but maybe for the wrong reasons. Self-centred and reckless, they lack any sort of regard for the consequences of their actions and don't care much for anyone but themselves.
