A charming café in the city, late afternoon. The café has a cozy, intimate atmosphere with soft lighting and warm décor. Hanjin and Dohoon sit at a small table by the window, trying to navigate their first date.
Hanjin's Internal Monologue: "This feels so different from what we're used to. I thought this date would be exciting, but instead, it's a bit awkward. How do we transition from being friends to something more? I'm not even sure what to say or do."
Hanjin fidgets with his coffee cup, while Dohoon stares at the menu, both of them clearly out of their element.
Dohoon: (nervously) "So, um, how's work been? Any new projects?"
Hanjin: (forcing a smile) "Oh, it's been busy, but I'm managing. How about you? How's the new project going?"
Dohoon: (looking relieved) "It's going well, just a lot of planning and meetings. It's been a bit stressful, but I'm excited about it."
There's a brief, uncomfortable silence as they both try to adjust to the new dynamic. Hanjin glances around, feeling self-conscious.
Hanjin: (hesitantly) "This is nice. I mean, being here with you, just the two of us. It's... different."
Dohoon: (nodding) "Yeah, definitely different. I guess we're both trying to figure out how to be... more than friends."
They both laugh nervously, the tension easing slightly. The conversation begins to flow more naturally as they talk about their interests and share personal anecdotes. Despite the awkward start, they start to enjoy each other's company.
Dohoon: (smiling) "I'm glad we're doing this. Even if it feels a bit strange, it's nice to spend time with you like this."
Hanjin: (smiling back) "Me too. It's definitely a change, but I think it's worth it."
They finish their coffee and decide to take a walk, trying to enjoy the rest of their time together despite the initial awkwardness.
A park near the café, early evening. The park is serene, with a few people strolling and enjoying the evening air. Dohoon is sitting on a bench when Jae-young approaches him with a serious expression.
Jae-young: (sitting down next to Dohoon) "Hey, Dohoon. Can we talk for a minute? I've noticed you've been acting different lately."
Dohoon: (looking uncomfortable) "Yeah, sure. What's up?"
Jae-young: (leaning in) "You've been more distant and preoccupied. I'm guessing it has something to do with Hanjin. I've seen you two together, and it's clear that something's changed."
Dohoon: (sighing) "It's true. Hanjin and I are trying to figure out a new dynamic in our relationship. It's been a bit challenging, but we're working through it."
Jae-young: (raising an eyebrow) "Working through it? It looks more like you're avoiding dealing with the real issues. Are you sure this is the right approach?"
Dohoon: (defensive) "We're trying to take things slow and see where it leads. It's not easy for either of us, but we're doing our best."
Jae-young: (concerned) "I just hope you know what you're doing. Changing a friendship into something more can be risky, and it seems like you're both struggling with it."
Dohoon remains silent, feeling the weight of Jae-young's words. Jae-young stands up, giving Dohoon a concerned look before walking away.
Hanjin's apartment, late evening. The room is dimly lit, and Hanjin is sitting on his bed, scrolling through his phone but clearly distracted. His thoughts are preoccupied with the day's events.
Hanjin's Internal Monologue: "Today was... okay, I guess. But there was something missing. I keep worrying that this new dynamic is going to ruin everything. What if we're not meant to be more than friends? What if this just complicates things?"
Hanjin's phone buzzes with a message from Dohoon. He reads it with a mixture of hope and anxiety.
Dohoon's Message: "Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for today. I know it was a bit awkward, but I'm glad we're trying. Let's talk more about it soon."
Hanjin: (typing a reply) "Yeah, thanks for today. I'm glad we're trying too. Let's talk soon."
Hanjin puts his phone down, feeling a knot in his stomach. He walks to the window and looks out at the city lights, reflecting on the uncertainty of their situation.
Hanjin's Internal Monologue: "I want this to work so badly, but I'm scared. I don't want to lose Dohoon or mess up what we have. Maybe I'm just overthinking things. I need to talk to him about how I'm feeling, but I'm not sure how."
As Hanjin turns away from the window, he feels a deep sense of insecurity and doubt. The fear of potentially damaging their friendship hangs heavy on his mind, leaving him anxious about the future.
