[Y/N] woke up slowly, cradled in something warm. Unconsciously, she snuggle further into the warmth before she opened her eyes. What she saw when she did was the Admiral looking down at her, a smile barely detectable on his face. She quickly scrambled out of the man's arms, falling back and hitting her head in her bedside table.
She put a hand to her head and rubbed the spot she had hit before hurriedly apologizing to the Admiral. "I'm so sorry! It was very inappropriate of me to-"
She was cut off by the Admiral speaking over her. "It's alright. If I disliked it, it would not have happened for very long. I understand that you just went through a very stressful situation and I'm willing to help comfort you in any way." The man said, empathy and concern laced into his tone.
The girl calmed down at his words, but she still couldn't bring herself to look at him, embarrassed by what had previously occurred. Luckily, she couldn't wallow in that embarrassment for long, as he began speaking again.
"Are you alright, my dear? You seem to have hit your head fairly hard. Do you need any ice to put on it?" He asked, looking genuinely concerned for her. Well, of course he was. This is the woman he was practically going crazy for, why wouldn't he be worried when she got hurt.
[Y/N] assured the Admiral that she was fine, it was just a bump after all. But even then, he still seemed concerned, treating her as if she was glass that could break at any minute if he handled her too roughly. [Y/N] didn't mind this too much though. It was refreshing to have someone worry over her so when all she knew before was neglect and abuse.
Akainu himself was a breath of fresh air for her. No one had ever treated her the way he treated her. He always seemed to care and pay attention. He always knew what she needed and his words could calm her down from any panic. It was like he was all she ever needed.
Akainu could see the way she looked at him almost adoringly, and it was exactly what he wanted to happen. He could see her falling for him more and more and it fueled him to keep going. He would make sure that [Y/N] was his. Only his.

Free the day she got attacked, [Y/N] was moved to a more secure room. It was in a hallway that required a keycard to access, in a wing of the building that was constantly guarded. It was normally reserved for the higher ups, but they made an exception for [Y/N], with absolutely no strings pulled by Akainu. Absolutely none.
[Y/N] definitely felt safer here. The security was amped up in this wing, and an added perk was that Akainu was much closer to her. This caused their walks to happen twice a day instead of once. She was much less out of his way now so he had more time to spend with her, instead of spending all that time walking to her.
Both Akainu and [Y/N] liked this change. They continued to get closer and [Y/N] couldn't imagine a day without him. He was always there, checking on her, taking care of her, and making her laugh.
Everything was going according to his plan. Everything was going his way. Soon he would have to leave on a short trip, which would separate him and [Y/N].
It would be hard for both of them, but hopefully more so for [Y/N]. Akainu leaving about help show [Y/N] what it's like when he's gone and make her need him more. It should help her realize that she can't live without him, just like he can't live without her.

[Y/N] was on one her daily walks with Akainu when they paused and sat on a bench. He said he wanted to talk to her about something and it seemed serious. [Y/N] feared the worst.
She was slightly relieved when he told her that he would be leaving, and nothing worse. But she was also worried about his absence. He had become a part of her daily routine, and her only chance to leave her room.
She had hoped that by now they'd have taken her off house arrest, seeing how close she got with Akainu and nothing happening to him. But they still insisted she stay away from others. On no part was this due to Akainu. He definitely wasn't influencing them to keep her in her room longer. Definitely not.
[Y/N] was worried about how she'd be stuck in her room for the week he'd be gone. It was hard on her before, and now that she has something to look forward to, it was sure to be even harder for her.
Akainu saw the conflict and worry in her eyes. Despite the sympathetic look on his face, he was slightly giddy inside. This is exactly what he wanted. He wanted her to be worried, he wanted her to realize that she needed him, just like he needed her. He knew they'd both be anxiously awaiting the day he'd return from his mission.
