The Age of Wrath began when Cybertronian military surveillance systems began tracking a group of objects that had entered the periphery of the Cybertronian Commonwealth. Within weeks, these objects had been picked up by civilian observatories and when they became public knowledge, the Council of Ancients revealed that they were almost certainly artificial in nature and were on a direct course to Cybertron.

When the ships entered deeper into Cybertronian territory, the outcome was almost apocalyptic...

A hastily assembled defense network overseen by the Cybertronian Defense Forces was immediately swept aside by the superior weaponry of the Quintesson Expeditionary Forces. With the CDF heavily decimated, the Quintessons used this to their advantage as they annexed many of the outer and smaller Cybertronian colonies into their Co-Prosperity Sphere in a campaign that lasted for the next 14 million years. In a matter of time, the major colonies such as Arduria, Caminus, Prion, Lithone, Junkion, Carcer, Neutronia, Gigantion, Devisiun, Tsiehshi, Nijita, Eukaris, Velocitron, Mons Prima, Omnitron, Biosfera, Vinsi'vallok, Lucifer, Cryadorr, and Dromedon eventually fall and are then occupied by Quintesson forces.

The Siege of Cybertron: With all of the Cybertronian colonies under their control, the Quintesson Expeditionary Forces begin their push to invade Cybertron. Amazon Prime commands a defense fleet in a desperate attempt to counter the invasion, but outnumbered and outgunned, the fleet and Amazon Prime herself were sadly destroyed. As their Sharkticon and Allicon armies make landfall, the Quintessons, with the aid of their allies within the Destron States, begin capturing the planet's major industrial parts and the birthing wells, as they successfully subjugated Tyger Pax and took the Well of All Sparks for themselves, giving them easy access to the planet's lifeforce--the AllSpark. By the time 98 percent of Cybertron's surface was under Quintesson control, the Cybertronians attempt to escape the aliens' tyranny by using the Space Bridge Network to transport everyone to a far-off corner of space. However, Quintesson scientists, thanks to information given to them by the Destrons, unleash an computer virus that completely destroys the network, leaving the Cybertronians no chance to escape.

The Quintessons destroy all known schematics on Space Bridge technology to prevent another escape attempt, but they keep the few remaining records in secrecy in hopes of one day reverse-engineering the technology for their own purposes.

After seeing the Cybertronian populace being left submissive by this show of dominance, the Alpha Quintesson, supreme leader of the Quintesson Pan Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere, reveals themself to the public and makes an announcement to the Cybertronians: apologizing for the destruction they brought to Cybertron and its colonies but note that all of it was a result of the planet's leaders refusing to surrender to a clearly superior enemy, promising that the death and devastation brought by the Siege would be the last. The Quintessons claim to the firstborn of the AllSpark and the creators of the Cybertronian race, having left Cybertron long ago to spread enlightenment across the universe and have returned to do the same for their creations. Alpha Trion and Maccadam knows that the Quints are lying, but most of the population, including high-ranking members of the government, easily fall into the aliens' deception. The Quintessons make overtures of peace, promising their advanced technology and access to the larger intergalactic community to the Cybertronians in return of a mutually beneficially alliance between their two cultures. The first act of "generosity" was the activation of all dormant T-Cogs, making a large majority of the populace believe that the act of transformation was invented by the Quintessons. Some Cybertronians are even modified to serve as transportation for their rulers, such as installing cockpits on the bodies of the Seekers. Those Cybertronians who didn't have a Quintesson partner became unknowing slaves, becoming part of a carefully managed and ordered labor force under the control of the Quintesson-influenced Cybertronian Guilds made to "advance" Cybertron's journey to the stars. At first, the Quintessons remain distant, with only small delegations present in Iacon and the other major city-states as ambassadors and diplomats. As promised, they share their technology and advise the Cybertronians in their efforts to unite the planet.
