Last week, we embarked on a thrilling adventure to a new home, and now, after a brief interlude at Grandma's, Mom has unveiled yet another mystery destination for us. The initial excitement has morphed into a cocktail of emotions, with the prospect of another move stirring both anticipation and apprehension within me. Each time the idea of relocation surfaces, a nagging question echoes in my mind: what if our new abode conceals secrets akin to those of our previous haunt? Departing from my dear friend Silas fills me with a pang of melancholy; his assurances of a future rendezvous fail to mask the hurt in his eyes. As our once vibrant abode stands forlorn and deserted, I steal one last wistful glance before we drive away. Was the eerie aura that enveloped our former residence a figment of my imagination, or did it house real spectral entities? Amidst my contemplation, the haunting words from the enigmatic leaflet resurface, painting a picture of ghostly apparitions lurking in the shadows of everyday life.

When we packed up our belongings to leave, Mrs. Rose, our elderly neighbour, was nowhere to be seen. Silas mentioned her worsening arthritis, explaining her absence, but a nagging feeling told me there was more to her absence. As we drove away, I caught a glimpse of her watching us from her window, her expression unreadable as she swiftly drew the curtains shut. There was definitely something she wasn't telling us. Was there more to her than met the eye? Only time would tell.
