Marcella sat with her children; they were listening to her read 'The Tails Tale.' A book Theo read to each of the children when they were younger; he would read a chapter or two each night before bed. It was later in the day, and they were all sad about laying their father to rest earlier that day, and Marcella decided that they would spend the day reading and recalling happy memories.
"And the rabbit made his." She stopped feeling something trickle down her thigh, experiencing pain she wasn't used to; she wasn't going into labor, but something was wrong with the baby, and that made her fearful.
"Mum?" Aemond asked, seeing her face pinch as did the other children.
"I am fine. I just need to go to the restroom and check on your grandfather Bash. Take over reading, please."
"Sure," he said silently, asking her if she was okay while taking the book and moving Jasper in his lap so that he could read the book.
Marcella quickly stood up, biting her lip to swallow the sound of pain she wished to let out, quickly waddling her way out of the room, making sure she didn't leave a trail of anything while she shut the door, quickly startling Caleb and Derek, who stood in the hall.
"Princess?" Derek asked as she bunched up her skirt some and put her hand up her dress, whimpering in pain.
"Marcella, whats wrong?" Caleb asked; she said nothing, but he was answered when her hand left her dress and was covered in blood.
"My babe," she cried quietly, pushing off the wall, cradling her stomach.
"Seven hells," they both whispered, rushing to her side as she nearly fell over.
"We need to get you in bed, Marcella," Derek said, but she shook her head.
"I will go to my mother's chambers; the children cannot see this; it is too early to give birth, Derek; there shouldn't be this much blood so quickly."
"Marcella-"
"No, either let me go or help me walk, damn it," she snapped, making him sigh, but he crouched down and lifted her up quickly, walking down the hall twoards the staircase.
"Get the maester; and inform the king," he told Caleb, who nodded and ran in the opposite direction towards the king's chambers.
"Almost there, Marc," Derek whispered as she cried out in pain. "Get the doors open now," Derek shouted at the maid that was near the late queen's chambers, who rushed to follow the demand when she saw the princess in such a state.
"OK, OK, we were here. Let's get your dress undone." He said, setting her down slowly as she cried, fear striking her as more blood seeped through her dress.
He made quick work with the laces of her dress, demanding the maid get some hot water going, knowing the maesters would need it. He got her dress off, trying not to gasp at the amount of blood he saw covering her slip the jut as the maesters and king and queen consort ran in.
"Ok, Marcella, what happened?" Mellos asked.
"I felt pain when Theo died, and it kept getting worse, but I ignored it. Why did I ignore it?" She snapped through her cries, angry at herself. She ignored the obvious signs something was wrong with her child and husband.
"Let's try to get you to calm down, Marcella. The more your emotions are worked up, the worse it is going to get for you and the baby."
"Calm down; where the hell is Zion? He is my maester, not you," she hissed.
"You're in labor."
"My water didn't break," she argued.
"It has just now," the maester said, making her look and realize he was right.
