The days following the concert were a blur for Y/N. She couldn't stop replaying the night in her mind the way Noah had looked at her, the warmth in his voice when he said her name, the magic of playing together. It felt surreal, like a dream she could hardly believe had come true.
She tried to go about her routine, but everything felt different. The music she had always loved seemed to carry a deeper resonance now, a connection she couldn't shake. Every note of Bad Omens's songs reminded her of that night, of the moment she had shared with Noah.
She didn't dare hope that he would reach out, yet every time her phone buzzed, her heart skipped a beat. But days passed, then a week, and still, nothing. She began to wonder if it had all been a fleeting moment, one of those things that meant more to her than it ever could to him.
But then, two weeks after the concert, Y/N received a message on social media. It was from an account she didn't recognize at first, a private, barely used profile with just a handful of posts. But when she opened the message, her heart stopped.
"Hey, Y/N. It's Noah. I hope you're doing well. I wanted to say thank you again for that night, it meant a lot to me. I've been thinking about that song we played together, and I have an idea I want to run by you. Let me know if you're free to chat."
Her hands shook as she typed out a response, trying to keep her cool. "Hi, Noah. I'm free now if you want to talk. I'd love to hear your idea."
Within minutes, her phone buzzed with an incoming call. She stared at the screen for a moment, her heart racing, before answering.
"Hey," Noah's voice came through, casual but with that unmistakable warmth.
"Hey," Y/N replied, trying to sound composed despite the whirlwind of emotions inside her.
"I didn't think you'd respond so quickly," he said with a chuckle. "Guess I got lucky."
She smiled, relaxing a little. "I've been thinking about that night too. I wasn't sure if I'd ever hear from you again."
"I'm not the best at keeping in touch," he admitted. "But I couldn't stop thinking about that song we played. I've been working on some new material, and I keep hearing your voice on one of the tracks. It got me thinking...what if we worked on something together?"
Y/N's breath caught in her throat. "Are you serious?"
"Completely," Noah said, his tone sincere. "There's something about your voice that just fits with what I'm trying to do. I don't know if you've ever thought about recording, but I'd love to have you on this track."
"I...I've never done anything like that before," she stammered, her mind reeling. "But I'd love to try."
"Great," he said, and she could hear the smile in his voice. "How about we meet up this weekend? I've got a small studio setup at my place. We can work on it together, see where it goes."
They made plans to meet that Saturday, and when the call ended, Y/N was left staring at her phone in disbelief. Was this really happening? The idea of recording with Noah Sebastian was beyond anything she had ever imagined. But there it was, right in front of her an opportunity she couldn't have dreamed up even if she tried.
The rest of the week passed in a blur. Y/N could barely focus on work, her mind constantly drifting back to the upcoming weekend. She practiced her vocals every chance she got, wanting to be as prepared as possible. Despite the excitement, a small part of her was filled with anxiety, what if she wasn't good enough? What if she let him down?
When Saturday finally arrived, Y/N found herself standing in front of a modest house on the outskirts of the city. It was nothing like she had imagined no sprawling mansion, no heavy gates or security guards. Just a simple, two-story home with a small, well-kept yard. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.
