Rainbow Dread

don't forget this pain

It all starts at Canterlot High. The day is sunny, but the mood of a certain group of friends doesn't seem to fit well with this climate.

"I really hate this!" Says Rainbow Dash, irritated because of a fight with some of the new students that happened in the cafeteria.

"You have to calm down, Rainbow." Fluttershy says, startled by Rainbow Dash's anger. "How am I supposed to calm down after what those idiots did!? Look what they did to Rarity!" Rainbow points to her friend with her hair ruined by what looks like some disgusting cafeteria food.

"I think we should get revenge." Rainbow says with a mischievous smile on her face. "No, we'll let it go". Sunset says in response to Rainbow's suggestion.

"WHAT!? You're not serious, are you?" Rainbow says, the disbelief in her voice evident. "It's quite serious, Rainbow, revenge won't solve anything. If anything, it'll make things worse." Sunset says and Rainbow seems to be getting more frustrated with every word that comes out of her mouth.

"OK! Then I'll do it alone, I don't need you guys for this!" Rainbow says, letting anger take over her words and leaving the schoolyard irritated.

An uncomfortable silence hangs in the air as Rainbow Dash leaves. "Wait Rain-" Fluttershy tries to go after Rainbow Dash but is stopped by Sunset. "Let her go, she needs some time alone." She says, trying to calm Fluttershy down.

"But... will she come back?" Twilight, who was trying to calm Rarity with her hair, approaches and asks. "I hope so." Sunset answers, but doesn't sound confident.

Unbeknownst to the group, several storm clouds begin to gather and appear to form a portal in the sky. From within this cloud portal, what appear to be monstrous creatures of black mud emerge. Just below the portal in the sky, four people wearing full-body robes stand in the middle of a ritual symbol on the ground. "Yes, yes, yes! Here it is, our masterpiece! Finally, the day has come for the world to fall, and we're going to start with this crappy little town." One of them says, a mischievous smile on his face.

Rainbow p.o.v:

(I can't believe she said that. How could I let it go?! After what they did? Never!) I think as I walk away from where they were and head to the soccer field.

I stand in the center of the field, lying on the grass, planning my revenge. I spend 2 hours thinking, trying to come up with a plan. (Maybe if I take that Fluttershy rabbit and teach it to bite really hard...) I think, but then I immediately discard the idea, it would be inefficient and much less hygienic.

"ARGH!" I scream in frustration at not being able to come up with any decent revenge, so I decide to sit down and reorganize my thoughts. (I think I broke my head a lot because of this, but thinking about it now, I don't even remember why I was so angry...)

"Shit." I say, irritated with myself for what I said. (I've been stressed out about so much lately. School, fights, and not to mention that magic thing. I guess... I just wanted a reason to explode.) I think to myself.

(I better go back and apologize before things get worse.) I think and head to the front of the school, but stop in shock when I see the entrance completely destroyed, there are injured students on the ground and the doors have been ripped off.

"But... What happened here?" I stare at the state of the place, unable to move. "AAAAAAAHHH!!" I hear a loud scream, it seems to be coming from inside the school, I recognize it, it's Fluttershy's scream.

"I'm coming Fluttershy! Hold on!" I yell as I run into the school, hoping to make it in time. After running through the hallways, I arrive at where the screams were coming from and I can't believe my eyes. What appears to be a large black mud monster accompanied by smaller mud monsters, was sucking what appeared to be a sphere of Fluttershy's energy through its mouth.
