Mayank did not know how he got there, but there he was.

In front of his Lord.

In his peripheral vision, he saw everyone watching them, but his eyes were solely focused on his Lord.

Who was smiling at him, his eyes soft and welcoming.

His Lord reached out a hand to him,

"I made you wait a lot. Forgive me"

Mayank took his hand in his, and leaned forward to peck the back of it, his eyes closed, lips lingering,

"I would have waited for an eternity, my Lord"

The gasps were clear now, nobody called Sir Lord theirs, but Mayank did. Because that was the truth.

The Lord for everyone, was his, and his only.

The King was upset. Firstly, he had wanted his own daughter to be married to the almighty Lord.

And secondly, his own knight had been the chosen one, without his knowledge.

The King was furious, but he couldn't have done anything even if he wanted to.

You'd not want to anger the Gods in the heaven. That was a teaching he was not to forget.

The marriage was a simple affair, the deity itself wrote their union, human affairs were just a necessity.

Throughout the ceremony, the veil mask had not been taken off by the Lord.

The whole court witnessing that, was confused by the act.

The Queen took it upon her self to ask about it to the Lord,

"Sir Lord? Would you mind if I ask you a question?"

Lord had smiled, or atleast it seemed that he had a pleased expression on his face,

"Ofcourse not, your highness"

"Why do you have a mask on, Sir Lord, wouldn't you give us the fortune to take a glimpse of you?"

Lord smiled and beckoned her closer, to whisper in her ear.

As the Lord whispered, the Queen herself looked flushed to the core of her soul.

She cleared her throat and went to sit back on her seat, the Lord sat on his place with a mischievous galore.

One of the close servants of the Queen silently asked her what the Lord had said to her that had her become so flustered.

"Sir Lord wants his husband to take off the veil......

The Queen trailed off, her head ducked as she embarrassingly continued,

".......on their first night. He says his husband should be the first to see him"

The women around them giggled among themselves and all the men stood their still confused about the veil.

Mayank had been fidgeting since the marriage ceremony happened, everything he ever wanted was right in front of him.

Right at the moment, he was sitting in a cot, his cot to be exact, which was decorated by the same flowers he had gifted his Lord in their childhood.

He was kneeling on the floor because the bedding itself looked something out of a fluffy cloud, he felt unworthy of it.

His Lord was in the bath, when Mayank entered their cot, or more like pushed by his mates from the academy.
