"I can't believe we are finally going home, those mid terms nearly broke me!" Lee yapped to his 3 friends trailing behind him. As he stepped foot on the hogwarts express he almost looked ridiculous he had been carrying a big thick quilted blanket and pillow above his head he didn't think to pack them in a bag because he wanted to be comfy on the train. Non of his friends blamed him they were all dressed in comfy pjs. Lyre fred and George were all wearing matching fuzzy socks, it was her Christmas gift to them. The twins and Lee all wore similar checkered pants, lees was blue and green while the twins was red and black. Lyre wore her hair in a pony, with black plaid pajama pants that were clearly to big for her and if not for the draw string they would have fallen off completely, and a plain black hooded sweater that was also a tad to big. Lyre however had her mind else where then pajamas And holiday. And her mood did not go unnoticed. The past week she had been more and more spaced out. now she was just completely disassociated, she barely payed mind to anything as they all sat on the train. The boys ordered snacks, the twins had bet on the last quidditch game and won quite a bit of coin and that's what they were all talking about. Until George interrupted.
"Lyre. What's the matter. You've barely touched your licorice wand." George spoke up. Lee then chimed in
"Yea ly, you've been uhh, well depressing to be around lately. What's got your knickers in a twist?" He layed back in his blankets he then put his feet on Fred's lap and Fred pushed them off "oh we shouldn't bother her, mum said ladies get like this sometimes." Fred rolled his eyes as lyre shot him a glare.
"No I just don't know how excited I am for holiday." She then averted her eyes to the passing scenery. Since the day her uncle sent her the letter she had been talking to a case attorney about her mom. With what she had gathered her mom still wasn't as healthy as could be, but sain enough to be around. Not like how she was before. Her mind was still not sound but she could at the very least hold a coherent conversation. As long as it had nothing to do with dogs or her currently incarcerated husband. Then she goes hysterical. Her mom retained a little memory of what happened except details were foggy or forgotten. Anything about the wizarding world was forgotten so to her they were just a normal muggle family, and in order to visit her mother she was not under any circumstances to talk about magic or the wizarding world. These details would send lyre into a strange stat of confusion. What was she even supposed to talk about with her mother, if not school and magic? That had been her life for the past 4 months. She couldn't help but be almost embarrassed of her real family. She didn't know anything about the muggle side except how they were unfit to raise her. And her dad side where all evil people. Then her actual parents a 2 complete loons, one is literally in a loony bin while the other in in the wizarding worlds most famed prison.
"Why's that? Lee asked pulling lyre from the window.
"No reason just not excited." She placed he head on her hand and her eyes moved back to the window
"Yeah, your probably just depressed to be apart from Charlie for 3 weeks." He moved his feet back up to Fred's lap who stopped trying to push them off. Lyre glared at the smug boy. He had caught her staring one day and couldn't let the subject go. Lyre was oddly surprised at how long he had managed to keep it a secret.
"I thought I told you to keep it quiet."
"Charlie? Our twat brother Charlie?" Fred said in awe "isn't he like a super nerd though? I took you for more of a girl in to ruggedly handsome kind of men." He crossed his arms across his chest scrutinizing the girls choices.
"Yeah lyre Charlie's kinda a square, he's a bit too old for you anyways." George added on
" t's non of your business anyways." She muttered continually glaring at the dark smug boy on the other side of the compartment.
"It is our business as your best friends." Fred said. "And Charlie's brother. We have to make sure you're making the right decisions."
George bobbed his head "yeah, besides I'm pretty sure Charlie is in love with something else..." lyre broke her glare
"What do you mean something else?" She asked almost worriedly as Lee snickered at her tone. She threw her sock at his face to shut him up.
"Well, Charlie he's not really the stay in one place kinda guy. Even if, and this is a big if. Even if you manage to woo him, he already plans to study dragons around the world. It would be hard keeping in one place for very long. And you'll be in school he would practically be on the other side of the world." George stated. Lyre darkened a bit at this, now she has boy troubles she didn't even prompt. Great holiday is going to be, so much fun.
"What about you lot, fancy yourselves anyone yet?" She wanted to steer the conversation away from her small crush.
"Megan Romero!" Lee stated ecstatically
The other 3 laughed at his jest,
"No I'm being serious, she said she would consider me if I did her potions homework. I know she's a twat but come on!" Lee's outburst prompted Fred to speak, "I've got someone in the back of my mind, but I'd rather stay friends." Lyre nodded not pressing any further
"What's this now, I haven't heard anything about this." George looked looked back at his brother with surprise.
"Ah well you know, we share a room with Lee, he's a bit of a blabber mouth. I'll tell you more when we get back to the burrow." He rubbed his neck eyeing the boy who looked offended trying to defend himself. Lyre looked at George whatever Fred was hiding she would surely find out in a letter soon, but now she was wondering what kind of girls he fancies.
"What about you Georgie?" The girl smiled gently at him. "Someone you like?"
"Not at the moment, Angelina is kinda fit... I guess." He trailed off " I'm not really looking for something right now though." He shrugged smiling back at lyre. "What are your plans for holiday?" He asked changing the subject.
"Ah, ya know. Lay about. Eat food. Read a book or 2." The girls face went back to contemplative after the mention of holiday.
"Do you and Remus do anything special or do you guys just sit about?" He asked digging deeper, he could tell she was worried about holiday but he wasn't sure what it was. She had been quite elusive when he brought it up but this time he was determined to get whatever it was out of her.
"We usually only buy eachother one nice gift, then we do something fun together. One year we played a muggle game called mono-o-poly. Where you collect money and stuff I didn't quite understand it, it was hard. And this year we are going to the cinema." While lyre had went to a muggle school she there was some things she still didn't quite understand about the muggle world. And muggle money was one of those things.
"Sounds like fun. Is it always just the 2 of you. Maybe me and Fred can come visit?" Her left nostril scrunched when he said two, giving him some kind of indication of what she was thinking. He waited for her reply non the less.
"Uh yea it's always been just the 2 of us, I haven't really got other family and neither does Remus so... I don't know if you both visiting would be a great idea. We are kinda going to be busy after Christmas." She rubbed her neck, the contemplative look returned to her eyes as her gave moved to the floor.
"What's happening after Christmas?" At this point Fred and Lee had started talking about something else leavening the other 2 to their devices.
"Oh I don't know, we will just be busy. It doesn't matter that much. What about the Weasleys what do you lot do for Christmas?" Changing the subject George knew he was closer to sniffing out what had gotten lyres knickers in a twist. He knew if he kept asking he'd probably get in trouble though. He weighed his options.
George ultimately decided to risk it.
" that's not a proper answer, give me a proper one." He almost whispered as to not draw Fred and lees attention.
"What if I don't wanna give a proper one?" She whispered back almost. Annoyed.
"Lyre, lets find the snack trolly. I'm running low on jelly beans." He said quite dryly He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the compartment. Dragging her until he found another empty compartment futher away from their friends.
Lyre protested but in the end she was no match for George's death grip.
" your going to tell me. You've been bothered for almost 2 weeks now, and rather in responsive and it's getting on my nerves." It really was getting on his nerves, all he really wanted was to see her happy and it's hard to find her peaceful gentle almost smile when she is disassociated and depressed.

"Really George, it's a lot. I shouldn't tell you." She folded her hands in her lap sitting across from the boy.
"Why not? You know I'll have your back." The simple words spoke volumes to the girl, she had never heard something quite like that before not from anyone. She went silent but still she insisted
" George, really it's not important. It will pass. I will be fine." She then stood up. And walked back to the compartment. The rest of the train ride was rather quiet she spent half of it thinking about her mom and half of it thinking about George and what he said. How it made her feel seen.

Soon the train arrived at kings cross station. Lyre. Had fallen asleep. She woke up to a gentle shake from George. Then a rough violent one from Fred.
"Ah finally awake?" He said dropping a sweater on her head. Put it on it's quite cold out." Fred spoke softer exiting the train compartment Lee had already left. George waited for lyre to get her bearings before he spoke.
"I'm sorry about pushing you. I just wanted to help."
At this lyre smiled then spoke in a slurred sleepy tone. "It's okay. I know." She then stood and with her hair still tucked in to her jumper she left.
George followed in suit. He could tell she was very tired, he didn't want her to accidentally trip. He helped her out of the train, and he would have kept helping her find her uncle until someone came up and hugged his leg. He could only recognize it as his little sister, no one else he know was that small or was that impulsive. She was about an inch taller then when he left, it was almost sad to see his sister had grow. Without him even knowing.
"Where's the other one's?" Ginny spoke. Talking of course of Fred and Charlie. Percy went on a holiday feild trip to tour the ministry this year. Something he funded completely by himself.
"Don't know gin, let me see my friend off will you? She's really tired and I'm kinda..." he trailed off looking for lure but she was already in a tight embrace with someone he could only assume to be her uncle.
"Is that your girlfriend?" Ginny wiggled her eyebrows at the boy.
"No, she's just a friend." He placed a hand on her shoulder keeping his eyes on lyre and her uncle.
"Where's mum?" He asked.
"No mum, Ron's sick, it's just me and dad." George nodded. As Fred and Charlie joined them. Ginny hugged the 2 separately. Charlie lifter her in to the air and then upside down. He had a lot of energy, despite how long the train ride felt. Charlie then took the upside down girl to their father as laughter exited their mouths. Lee had stopped by to say his final goodbyes. Before he could leave though lyre came over with her uncle.
"Fred, George, Lee this is my uncle Remus, he wanted to meet you lot" Remus shook all 3 boys hands
"It's so nice to see lyre making friends instead of complaining about not having any all day."

"She certainly does gripe a lot." Fred stated while bobbing his head. Remus snickered at the boys retort.
"Although I know you boys like to get in to trouble I hope your not implanting any ideas in to lyres head." Remus asked.
"Trust me sir it's often more times she implants the ideas in our heads." George replied. It was then when Lees parents had called him back. That's when Fred and George took their leave too. Except before they left, lyre pulled them both in to a surprising hug.
"What's this? Affection? From the coldest women on earth? George I think I might be hallucinating." Fred almost screamed.
"Your not hallucinating Fred, we must have died. The train must have crashed. " George replied. They both could hear lyre snicker a bit. That made them both gasp.
"You both are just to much sometimes." She rolled her eyes Fred looked at George. Then waved as she walked off the platform with her uncle.
"If that wasn't a bit of laughter, I don't know what was." Fred looked at George expecting victory high fives. Maybe a cake. All though George knew better. He felt it was a bit more sullen than a usual friendly laugh or chuckle. He knew she was only laughing now because for some reason she felt her Christmas or days that followed would be awful.
"No Fred, I think.. I think she wants to cry. I think this might be a terrible break for her. I wouldn't be surprised if we get letters telling us all about it in a few days."

Fred looked at his twin, quite pissed for denying him his win for a second time. "At some point it's got to count George. I can't keep up with all these freebies." The boy crossed his arms stomping back to his family leaving George to stare at the back of a girl who had disappeared ages ago.
