If there was a rat hole, Judith wanted to crawl into it right away. She failed to count how many times her eyes were focused on Derrick today. Of all her life, the current situation in which he picked her up was the most serious.

Judith didn’t have the courage to take her eyes off his face and look around. It was obvious that even if she turned her gaze to the side even a little, there would be countless people looking at her with astonishment or excitement.

He wasn’t the kind of guy who would listen if she asked him to let her off anyway. So, she just hoped to get out of this place as quickly as possible. She didn’t mean to show him how hurt she was in the first place. Judith forced herself to swallow the sigh that was about to escape.

Suddenly, Judith saw Vincen, who she didn’t even know was looking over Derrick’s shoulder. He had a blank expression that was no different from anyone else’s. He would never have dreamed that he would witness his sister and her husband’s abrupt behavior at the banquet hall.

“… Please go quickly.”

Judith could not raise her head and buried her face in his shoulder. Derrick left as if he were going to go to his own headquarters. It was truly amazing that he seemed to have a still face and didn’t even care about what people around him thought.

As Judith left the noisy banquet hall, it felt like she could finally live in the silence that fell upon her ears. Derrick hugged her as if she wasn’t too heavy, and followed behind the servant without any sign of difficulty.

“Here it is.”

Soon, the attendant introduced the lounge not far from the banquet hall. He left a message asking her to call him if she needed anything, then disappeared. When the two of them were alone, Judith finally felt relieved and let out the breath she had been holding.

Derrick put her down only after reaching the soft sofa inside the common room.

“Why did you do that all of a sudden?”

“You’re not asking because you really don’t know?”

As expected, she guessed it was true that Killiton didn’t like the sight.

Derrick sat with his legs bent in front of Judith and placed her feet on his thighs. The way he took off her shoes, which did not fit well, was extremely careful and without any hesitation that Judith wondered if he was worried that she might get hurt further. Without exaggerating, he was more generous to her than the servants were.

“Are you telling me not to treat you in a place like this?”

He growled in a low tone. He somehow thought that her feet were in an excruciating ache as she turned away from Killiton, blood seeping from her torn skin.

“Oh, don’t treat me!”

Derrick twitched his eyebrows wildly at her attitude of still refusing treatment despite coming this far. He seemed to be ignoring Judith’s attempts to stop him and immediately grabbed her ankles.

“I know who I will encounter in the future! Don’t you think it’s strange if my wound suddenly heals? So, we should only utilize the first aid right now, and provide proper treatment when we’re back at the mansion.”

If this was the carriage heading to the mansion, Judith would not have refused the treatment. But they haven’t left the banquet hall, yet. If someone were to notice that the wound had healed significantly, they would undoubtedly be suspicious.
