SYLVIA HAD NO IDEA HOW SHE ENDED UP IN THIS SITUATION. All she knew was that one moment, Matthew Sturniolo was going on and on about her best friend Juniper (don't tell anyone she told you this, but he had the fattest crush on her best friend), and the next moment, he was staring at her with a hopeful look plastering his face. Now, she knew this was partially her fault as she was the one that brought up the whole making June jealous to get her attention idea, but now that she thought about it, she was sure Matt should just tell the girl he had feelings for her.
Matt wanted to fake date. Sylvia, however, did not.
"Why me?" Sylvia finally asked, giving him a disbelieving look. "Ask one of the other girls — Oh, I know, ask Daphne to do it. She will."
"Well, you're my best friend, it'll be more believable." Matt replied, reaching for his phone and pulling up a picture of them both. "What do you think? I think we already look like a couple anyway."
Sylvia narrowed her eyes and snatched his phone out of his hands. She turned his phone off and threw it next to her. "No, we don't." She said, "Couples are gross."
"Come on," Matt pouted, "It'll help us both out. You get a boyfriend experience, so you know what it's like to be in a relationship. And I get the girl."
Sylvia groaned, got out of bed and messed up Matt's hair. "I don't want a boyfriend experience," She told him, "Love is gross."
Matt glanced at her, his hair still messed up, "There's no love involved, Via." He stated, shaking his head. "It's just fake."
Sylvia nodded her head. "Matthew." She muttered. "I really hate you sometimes."
"No, you don't," Matt said, before his eyes widened. "Wait — Is that a yes? You'll be my fake girlfriend?"
"Don't make me regret it, Matthew."
Matt grinned, and pulled Sylvia into a hug. "Don't think of it as fake, think of it as one long prank?" He said. "If it makes you feel any better, we can film it as a prank video?"
After much convincing, Sylvia finally agreed to make one long YouTube video over the next few days... weeks... months? She had no clue how long they were supposed to fake date for, but still... over however long, they will be filming little snippets of updates on their fake dating. So, the two were sat in front of a camera, both looking for photos they've taken together that looks... coupley.
"What about this one?" Matt asked, showing a picture to Sylvia.
She glanced at his phone. "Yeah," she muttered, "That one is good — but you still haven't introduced this whole thingy to your fans."
Matt glanced up and his eyes widened. "Fuck, yeah," he grinned. "What's up, YouTube? Your favourite ship that is not a ship is back! Well, it's about to be a ship, but a fake ship! How cool is that?"
"Anyone who can comment how many times he said ship will get a reply from me," Sylvia grinned, messing Matt's hair. "So, long story short, Matt fancies the socks off of my best friend, Juniper—"
"— I thought I was your best friend."
"Shhh, you are. Anyways, moving on... he is obsessed with Juniper, so we are going to fake date. Okay? Okay."
