When he woke up, the morning light filtering through the curtains, the bed beside him was empty. He sat up, blinking against the sunlight, his heart sinking as he realized she was gone.

But there, on the pillow beside him, was a folded note. His chest tightened as he picked it up, his fingers trembling slightly as he opened it.

I meant everything I said. You will be unstoppable. I believe in you—always.

She hadn't signed it, but she didn't need to. Her words were enough.

He sat there for a long moment, staring at the note, his emotions swirling. He could still feel her warmth on the sheets, still smell her perfume in the air, but she was gone. And as much as it hurt, as much as he wanted her to stay, he knew why she had left. She was protecting them, just like she said.

He folded the note carefully, placing it in the pocket of his jeans, her words echoing in his mind.

You will be unstoppable.

For the first time in a long time, he believed her.
