Lollipop drifted through the camp like a ghost. The infection ran deep now her body moving with a strange, automatic ease, Evil Leafy's presence woven into every step. It was as if she was watching herself from the inside, no longer in control but aware of every sinister move.
She could feel it the hunger that twisted her stomach, the relentless urge to kill. It was always there, simmering beneath the surface. And now, whenever she had the chance, she would strike. Quietly. Efficiently.
Her first target was Bubble. She was floating near the riverbank, her translucent form gently bouncing in the air. Lollipop's breath caught as she approached, her footsteps quiet on the grass. Bubble didn't notice why would she? Lolli had always been part of the team, a friend.
But friends didn't matter now.
Do it, Evil Leafy hissed in Lolli's mind.
Lollipop's hands moved almost instinctively, her fingers stretching out toward Bubble. The surface of the bubble shimmered in the sunlight, so fragile, so easy to break. She pressed her thumb and forefinger together, and with a sharp pop, Bubble was gone. No struggle, no screams just the briefest sound of air escaping, and then nothing.
It was disturbingly easy.
"I didn't... mean to..." Lolli whispered inside her head, her heart racing, but the words felt hollow.
One down. Keep going, Evil Leafy purred, satisfied.
The rest of the team hadn't noticed yet. Lollipop moved through the shadows, her every step measured, calculated. She knew their routines, their habits. When they would be alone.
Next was Balloony. He was floating high above the camp, scouting for something. Lollipop felt the knife in her hand, cold and heavy, as she approached him from behind. Balloony turned just in time to see her, confusion flashing across his face. "Lolli? What are you—"
The knife cut through the air before he could finish, slicing cleanly. Balloony's form deflated instantly, the life leaving him in an instant. Lolli stood there, panting, watching his body fall to the ground like a discarded balloon.
Good girl, Evil Leafy whispered, her voice oozing satisfaction.
Then came Gelatin. He was hiding behind some bushes, unaware of Lollipop's approach. The knife in her hand felt heavier now, but there was no hesitation. She moved quickly, the blade plunging into his soft, squishy form. Gelatin's eyes widened, but there was no time to react. Lollipop twisted the knife, watching as Gelatin's body rippled, his form slowly losing shape, until he collapsed into a lifeless heap on the ground.
Lollipop's breaths came in short, ragged gasps, her hands trembling with every kill. She tried to fight it, to stop herself from moving, but Evil Leafy's control was too strong. Each murder left a dark stain on her soul, but there was no turning back now.
Ruby was next. She sat polishing her gem-like body, unaware of the danger lurking just behind her. Lollipop's hand tightened around the knife once again, her mind screaming for her to stop. But her body moved on its own, and Ruby was gone before she even knew what hit her.
The Have Cots were falling, one by one.
But it wasn't enough for Evil Leafy. Keep going. We're not done yet.
