Angst ending

He was pulled back into the bunker by someone fairly strong, and he saw the door be shut by Raffaele.

“NEIN! Ich muss ihn beschützen... Ich muss... I-Ich…” Rhine cried out, struggling against whoever was holding him back.

“It’s too late Rhine… It’s all rubble.”

“Damn you Vikkia!” Rhine snapped, struggling even more to get free from her grasp. “Let me get to him!”

Viktoriya just held him tight as the detonating of the bombs continued. Rhine broke down when the brigade seemed to worsen to him, sobbing as he realized he had failed. He failed Prussia.

The hours crawled by, and the explosions didn’t seem to cease. Not for a while.

By the time the explosions finally stopped, Rhine had sobbed three times, each time shorter than the last. He was terrified for Prussia. He didn’t know where he was. He didn’t know whether he was okay.

Joleanna was obviously confused as to why Rhine had been crying and why Viktoriya, of all people, was comforting him. Raffaele was also trying to comfort Rhine, though not to the same extent as Viktoriya was. Strange how former enemies could care for one another so easily in times like these.

Rhine was quite nearly inconsolable. He believed his lover to either be dead or seriously hurt, and neither were options he wanted to think about. He just wanted Prussia to be okay, and not suffering from any sort of injury.

However, when the rescue teams arrived and it was safe to leave the bunker, Prussia was already taken to the nearest non-obliterated hospital. At least from what Rhine was told by one of the people who were going around and getting people out.

“I-is Prussia okay..?” Rhine asked as a blanket was wrapped around his slightly shaking body.

Joleanna was being ushered into an emergency vehicle. The others were trying to help the rescue teams to get people out of the rubble, they weren’t in such a severe state of shellshock (surprisingly) as Rhine and Joleanna.

Prussia…

“Sir, you need to get into the vehicle.”

Rhine blinked, and looked up at the person speaking to him. The person was Herr Ragisfault. His graying hair was disheveled, his suit wrinkled, and his expression tired and slightly haunted. Rhine couldn’t imagine he looked any better. He was sitting on a piece of rubble with a blanket wrapped around him. Or was it three blankets? He still felt cold either way.

“O-oh y-yeah…” Rhine stammered, standing up on trembling legs. But he didn't stay standing for long. He passed out, falling into Herr Ragisfault's arms like a ragdoll.

. . . .

“NEIN! LASS MICH BEI IHM SEIN! ICH MUSS SICHER SEIN, DASS ER AM LEBEN IST! ICH MUSS MICH ENTSCHULDIGEN! Bitte... lasst mich bei ihm sein… Bitte…” Rhine cried as he was restrained down to the hospital bed shortly after waking up. He needed to see Prussia, otherwise…

He would never forgive himself if Prussia was dead. Never in a millennium.

Translations:

“NO! I have to protect him... I have to... I-I…” is “NEIN! Ich muss ihn beschützen... Ich muss... I-Ich…”
NEIN! LASS MICH BEI IHM SEIN! ICH MUSS SICHER SEIN, DASS ER AM LEBEN IST! ICH MUSS MICH ENTSCHULDIGEN! Bitte... lasst mich bei ihm sein… Bitte… = NO! LET ME BE WITH HIM! I HAVE TO BE SURE THAT HE IS ALIVE! I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE! Please... let me be with him… Please…
