Mrs Murray left Andy's office with a blink of an eye. No words have been spoken since she confessed something so personal. Andy waned to dig in to find out more, but she felt somehow uncomfortable about it. As soon as she realized her mistake, she ran out of her office but Mrs Murray was nowhere to be found. She didn't even get her phone number. That was incompetence.

She glanced at the clock. It wasn't even past nine. She grabbed the manila folder with Murray's case and rushed to the parking lot.

She arrived at the Columbia Law School at half ten. The traffic was heavy in this part of town. She was supposed to be helping Ingrid Appleton and Trevor Fudge, her 'coworkers'. They were older than she was and had more experience. She was never equal to them but it wasn't an obstacle for Andy to respect them.

That day she was helping Ingrid with her lecture. She was allowed to speak, occasionally, but her real task was spotting the smartest students.

Of course, Andy couldn't remain quiet for long. She was throwing comments from time to time to lighten up the frightened students' moods. She couldn't rely only on students' activity. She needed to hear their reactions to her unexpected disagreements with the professor.

She couldn't pick only the ones who were speaking up frequently. She wanted to give the chance to the ones who were quiet. She believed in their potential and asked them a few questions herself.

It was a quiet class. Her mind was too busy with the case the was assigned to. The infamous top five students were bloody well prepared. She spoke up only once, when one of her students asked her about her point of view on a certain aspect.

The next lecture was Mr Fudge's. Andy found out about his absence minutes before the beginning of it. She was frustrated but also knew it wasn't his decision. He was in court. She wanted to make the best of it, she didn't want the time to go to waste. She started on a new subject, but it was soon interrupted by no one but Phoebe Knox.

"Miss Bennett, is this true you're representing Lord Murray?" The high pitched voice said.

Andrea didn't see that coming. "I don't know how is it any of your concern." She needed to stay cool, couldn't allow herself for a sudden outburst. It simply wasn't Knox's business, but there was something wrong with the question itself. "Where did you hear that?"

Knox twitched her lips into an evil grin. "Lady Murray said something about it to the press. It looks like she doesn't like you."

"What do you mean?"

Phoebe approached Ms Bennett. It's not like she was going to stop her. "Did you scare her off with your lesbian tendencies?" It was quiet but students sitting in first two rows were able to hear that.

"Am I scarring you off with my lesbian tendencies, Ms Knox?" She raised her left brow.

Phoebe flashed her phone's screen in front of Andy's eyes. It was a short video of her client's wife calling her "spoiled little brat who barely graduated law school". It felt like a slap. Phoebe noticed the wounded look on Andy's face and returned to her seat.

Before she continued on the unfinished subject, she got an idea. "Listen up, I'm going to give you a great opportunity."

"Are you inviting us to join you and..."

"Mr Suarez, don't finish this sentence unless you have a death wish." She knew he was going to comment on her and her girlfriend. He was always trying to do anything to keep the game going. Unfortunately for him, Andy was a one hundred percent lesbian. And faithful to Meg. "I was saying, I have a great opportunity. I'll tell you about Mr Murray's case and the facts about it. I'll listen to your ideas and pick the five to help me on that one."

There was no going back from this.
And she was going to regret it. Andy gave them a minute to think on this case. The students were rather cooperative. They didn't say anything Andy didn't know, but their conclusions were right.

At the end of the lecture, she was going to announce who was going to join her on this case. She wasn't sure about her choice. Not at all. But she had to do this.

"Okay, attention please." The auditorium remained silent. "Joshua Hooves," he stood up proudly. "Randall Suarez,", he whistled and opened his mouth to speak, but Andy threw him a death glare. "Byron Dyer, Tom McKay and," she looked around and spotted the last person. "Phoebe Knox."

She definitely regretted her choice. Then, the lecture finished. The hall got almost empty in two minutes. Just before Andy quitted the room, brunette student put a hand across the door. Her olive skin was shining in the light.

"Andy," she started, but Ms Bennett quickly interrupted.

"Could you at least refer to me properly?" She internally laughed at that, reminding herself how Mrs Murray asked the same thing.

"Okay, Ms Bennett? Why me? Of all students, why did you pick me?"

Andy's facial expression was calm. "I simply noticed you're very observant. I need someone like that on my team." She excused herself and left the school. She was already late to the lunch with Meg.

She got to Starbucks twenty minutes late. She already messaged her girlfriend and internally cursed herself for the stupid mistake. She ordered a random flavored frappucino and tried to find a free chair in the crowded café.

When she finally found one, she got yelled at by a person who was also going to sit there. Then, she looked up. "Whoa,  Andy Bennett?" The other woman said with disbelief.

Andy couldn't believe her eyes. It couldn't be happening, yet it was. She gulped and tried to put on an emotionless face. "Latoya Dawson?"
