His eyes sprung open as he woke up with a jolt. A humongous plane of blue filled with vision, covered with puffs of white clouds. Birds flew overhead in the distance, chirping and singing as they soared through the sky.
He blinked a few times before rubbing his temples. His head felt empty and everything was foggy. He couldn't remember what he did before he went to sleep.
He sat up and saw an odd sight. Inches-long grass brushed against his suit, waving as the wind breezed by. He raised his head and looked around just to realise that he was somewhere in the forest.
Everywhere he looked, there were just trees and bushes. He was in some sort of clearing about 50 metres in diameter. The clearing was filled with relatively short grass, alongside several patches of vibrant flowers. There were small chunks of rock scattered across the clearing.
About a metres from him was a woman lying unconscious. She had hair as white as snow, comparable to his. Her hair was medium-length, reaching down to her back. She seemed so angelic even when unconscious.
"Beautiful..." he murmured before shaking his head.
The man reached out his hand towards her, trying to wake her up. Just before his fingers touched her seemingly fair skin, her eyes sprung open. She was donning a dress. She quickly sat up, prompting him to pull back his hand. The woman turned around and the two made eye contact.
There was silence. Even the forest went completely still. None of them uttered a single word as they stared into each other's eyes.
She has heterochromia. Her eyes were akin to a pair of different-coloured gems. Her left eye was brilliant Ruby while her right eye glimmered like Amethyst. His eyes were a pair of sapphire, having the colour of the deep blue ocean.
Noticing that he was staring, he shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Sorry," he muttered before looking back at her. "My name is Akatsuki Shiroe. May I ask what is yours?"
The woman thought for a moment before replying, "Yuki. Shimo Yuki". Her voice sounded expressionless.
"Well, Miss Shimo-"
"Yuki"
"Miss Yuki-"
"Yuki only"
"Alright. Well, Yuki. You can call me Shiroe". He looked around and continued, "Do you happen to know where are we?"
"In a forest... Other than that, I don't know."
"I see..."
He got up and brushed off dirt from his clothes. He then reached out a hand to her as a gesture of help. She stared a bit at his hand before grabbing it. He helped her up and she shook her dress a bit, dusting off the grass sticking on it.
"So, Yuki. Any ideas about our situation? Maybe how we could appear here?"
"Hmm... We might get kidnapped."
"But what kind of kidnapper put us in the woods?"
"Fair point."
He thought a bit before suggesting a plan. They would split up and search the surroundings for any clues. He would cover the left, while she took the right. Without much waiting, they went off in their direction, only to regroup several minutes later.
"Found anything?" Shiroe asked, only to be met with a head shake.
"We are in the middle of nowhere," Yuki replied.
"But we just passed nowhere five miles ago," he said as he sneered. Judging from her squint eyes, she wasn't impressed. "Sorry. Just remembered an old movie" he apologised.
