As Rukmini stood there, gazing into Raman's eyes, it was as if the years of pain, longing, and confusion unraveled in an instant. The weight that had pressed on her heart for so long lifted, replaced by an overwhelming sense of peace. Raman’s eyes, so familiar yet changed, shone with the same love she had felt in the letters. The truth was undeniable now; her heart recognized the man she had loved and lost, even as time had worked to separate them.
Raman pulled her closer, his hands gently cradling her face, as if afraid that she might slip away again. "I promised you Rukmini," he whispered, his voice breaking with emotion. "I promised I’d find you, no matter what."
Rukmini's tears continued to fall, but now they carried a different emotion—relief. She leaned into him, resting her head against his chest, feeling his heartbeat steady beneath her ear. "I waited for you," she murmured. "Even when I didn’t know I was waiting, I never stopped."
For a while, they stood like that, wrapped in each other's warmth, letting the long-buried emotions wash over them. There was no need for explanations or questions. The universe had brought them back together, and that was all that mattered.
As the sun began to set outside, casting a soft golden light into the forgotten room, Raman gently pulled Rukmini towards the door. "Come with me," he said softly, his hand never leaving hers. "There’s something I want to show you."
They walked together, their hearts now lighter, and soon found themselves outside in the open air, where a small garden lay hidden behind the camp . The place felt serene, untouched by the passage of time, much like their love.
In the center of the garden was a single, ancient tree, its branches strong and steady, stretching out as though to protect the lovers beneath it. Raman led Rukmini to the tree and knelt down beside it, brushing aside the fallen leaves. Beneath the surface, etched into the bark, were their names, intertwined in a symbol of eternal love.
"I carved this for us, in another life," Raman said, his voice full of emotion. "I wanted a piece of us to live forever, no matter what happened."
Rukmini knelt beside him, her fingers tracing the names with reverence. "We will always find each other," she whispered. "In every lifetime, in every world."
As the twilight deepened, they sat together under the tree, their hands intertwined, watching the stars begin to shimmer in the sky. The universe seemed to celebrate their reunion, the stars twinkling like a promise of the love they would carry through all the lifetimes to come.

Years passed, and Rukmini and Raman built a life filled with joy and contentment. They opened a small art studio in Dhaka, where Rukmini’s memories of the past merged with their present. Their work was a testament to the love that had transcended time, and their story inspired all who knew them.
On their wedding day, in front of close friends, Rukmini whispered in Kaishik's ear, "I found the letters, but the one that matters the most is the one you never had to write. You kept your promise."
With a smile, Raman—Kaishik—held her hand, the two of them ready to face the world together, knowing that nothing could ever tear them apart again.
Their love had spanned centuries, endured loss, and overcome all obstacles. Now, in this life and all the others to come, they had found their eternal reunion.
