So, imagine that King Aerys II and Queen Rhaella got twins - Daeron and Daera a bit more than a year after Rhaegar's birth. Rhaegar was born in 259 AC. The twins were born at the beginning of the year 261 AC. (I've found only their adult arts, anyway)

As these two are twins, so they're close to each other. Actually they loved each other as siblings, but then the sibling love would grow into something more than it (that was a spoiler).
Daeron is a good person, but sometimes he can be frightening while he's angry. And when he was a child he was very honest so sometimes it was a disadvantage :). He started holding a sword in his hands when he was only 5. Also Daeron is a witty person, he always knows what to say so his word is always the last. He's a smart one actually, his brain always works perfectly. Also he's confident, determined and charming. Many young ladies wanted his attention, but he didn't crave it. But it didn't last too long, as at 15 y.o. he was already married (it's the Mad King's idea, obviously). Daeron also loved his older brother, they're in very good relationships.
Daera is a walking fire, a true Targaryen, yet her brothers' influnce was strong so sometimes she's more reserved. Daera wasn't "a proper lady", yes, "she should've been taught like that", but when, if she usually skipped the lessons and ran to the yard learning how to fight with her brothers. She didn't like to study, but she was definetely the best of the three children, especially in High Valyrian. She's honest always, she doesn't really care about anyone's feelings, though there was some examples, it was her sweet mother - Rhaella. Both, Daeron and Daera always wanted to protect her, their innocent and poor mother who deserved much more and better. And the second example is, obviously, Daeron, but later, because when they were children they both told to each other "how awful they look today".
As I've already told, the twins are very close. They shared their secrets with each other. Also when they did something bad, there's always them both guilty (but Rhaegar protected them so they weren't uncovered). The twins always made many fun of each other and always mocked each other anytime there was a possibility. Anyone would say that they hate each other from the words they say to each other, but the twins know that it's just mocking.
