"You can't be a hero without a quirk."
Those words had hurt Izuku more than he thought it would. Even the number one hero; All Might; doubted that he could be a hero without a quirk. In a world where 80% of people inherited supernatural powers called 'quirks'. Izuku Midoriya was unfortunately among the 20% that had no powers. Among the ordinary people, the quirkless.
That didn't stop Izuku from dreaming of being a pro hero someday. Oh no, not at all. Afterall, his mother stopped encouraging him to be a hero, his best friend now turned bully mocks him for his unrealistic ideals, and several people had made fun of his quirkless state. All he wanted was for someone to tell him that he could be a hero.
He wanted someone to believe in him.
That wasn't too much to ask for, right?
But now...All Might doesn't believe in him as well. If this was what everyone thinks of his goals, isn't it about time that he moved on to more realistic goals?
Those thoughts conflicted Izuku's mind has he trekked down the path leading to his home. His mother must be worried about him by now. On his way, he was encountered by Bakugo. Someone he refers to as Kachan, a childhood name he had given to his former friend...More like Kachan ran to his direction. From the looks of things, the panting and huffing from Kachan shows that he had been running for a while. Bakugo's face was contorted to a frowning one. Teeth gritting together and almost emitting a snarl from his throat.
"Deku" Bakugo said in a low tone.
Izuku flinched at the nick name rendered to him by someone he was called a friend. Useless: That was the meaning of his nickname. Its meaning so contradicting compared to the name that he gave Bakugo.
"Ka-Kachan?" Izuku questioned timidly with a shaky voice as he stared at the fierce red eyes of his ex-friend. "Is-Is there something you need?"
"I didn't ask for your damn help nerd. I didn't need you to save me! Or anybody's!" That one was definitely a lie. Even Bakugou's face was tinted with a bit of red.
Was he embarrassed?
Bakugou took one last look at Deku. This quirkless bastard...Why? Why did he even bother to come to his rescue? After-After everything that he had done to him?
'Because you looked like someone who was in need of help.'
Bakugo's mind flashed back to what Deku had told him. Despite his creasy hands trying desperately to pull off the slime from the sludge villain stuck on him, despite the fear clearly written on his face like the clear daylight...he smiled while trying to help him. Him!
Bakugo felt...Lividly frustrated. "Don't you think that makes me owe you anything!" He stormed out of the lone street they were standing in, refusing to look at the face of the damn nerd.
Izuku looked on at Bakugo's form until he disappeared down the street. That felt weird, to say the least. Kachan had never actually come to tell him anything apart from jesting him of his future plans to be a hero. Izuku shook his head and continued to head down the street. He didn't head far until he encountered someone. And that someone was...
"All might?!"
"I AM HERE...ENCOUNTERING YOU ONCE AGAIN YOUNG ONE!" The number one pro hero, clad in full glory said with vigor to Izuku. Only to deflate back to the thin form Izuku saw him earlier today.
Now that makes it the second time of meeting All might. But what was he here for? To reprimand him for his actions lately? To discourage him further? He was too overwhelmed to think of all possibilities.
"There are three things that I came to tell you."
Izuku listened on with rapt attention.
At the top of a roof, a good distance away and faced adjacently where All might and Izuku stood; were two figures who intently watched their conversation.
__________
Izuku still couldn't believe it. All might's powers were inherited. And he was asking him to be his successor?! It was already evening as he was heading home, the clouds shading to a darker color. And to think that today would turn out from a whooping disaster to a dream come true.
Turning around to the block that leads to where he and his mother lived, his head bumped into someone. He looked up...standing in his way...
Was All might.
"All might? I thought you had already gone home. Or is there something you want to tell me...?" Those words died down in his throat when he saw the full appearance of All might.
All might wasn't wearing the white shirt and green cargo pants he wore that same evening, in fact this All might is quite shorter than the real one. He wore a set of jean trousers and black t-shirt, along with a punk styled jacket. And his eyes; were not the mystic blue. Replacing the tranquillizing color is a set of hollow clay filled eyes.
"You-You are not All might." Izuku said with trembling lips.
This All might gave a rather traumatizing grin. Not like the cherry one that the real All might will display. Sharp teeth could be seen in every corner of his now opened mouth.
A rattled voice escaped the lips of the counterfeit All might. "Sorry kid. But I ain't All might."
The impersonator took a few more steps towards Izuku, efficiently blocking his path to escape. Izuku was about to raise his voice, wanting to alarm anyone nearby for help when he realized it was only the fake All might and him that were the only ones in the streets.
This was bad.
Just before Izuku could process what was going on, he was manhandled by the fake All Might. Izuku's mouth was covered to prevent any sort of noise escaping from him. He scratched and kicked at the counterfeit, but he didn't budge instead dragging Izuku towards a dark runway alley.
A figure clad in a white shirt with green suit and a tie. Despite the darkness of the night, Izuku could make out something off about the entity at the front. Purple shadows, or was is it fog, surrounded the being as piercing yellow eyes stared right back at him.
The fake All might roughly dragged him to the foggy being while still holding down his arm and mouth.
"Got the kid right here."
The being just stared at Izuku's trembling form. Its yellow eyes narrowed, as if it was scrutinizing the appearance of the middle schooler.
"Good." All of a sudden, they were consumed by a purple warp. The fog being stepped in followed by the counterfeit hero who was dragging a struggling Izuku. The warp gate was closing in, making the terrified teen panic. Izuku's hand trying to outstretch to the little gap left of the existing environment.
Izuku tried frantically to get the grip of his abductor off him, but with little to no success. Muffles and trashing were the only signs he was screaming for help, but along the now closed warp gate; died down muffled screams of Izuku. Taking away any evidence that night like nothing happened.
That day, Izuku didn't return home.
That day, was the beginning of hell for Izuku.
That day, was how an innocent child, aspired from beloving heroes to despising them.
This is the story of how Midoriya Izuku became the greatest threat to the world.
