Chapter 7: Fountain of Friendship

Afternoon

After putting the final touches on Gino's dad's restaurant, Julia, Buddy, Poppy, and Gino take a moment to step back and admire their hard work. The restaurant is bustling with anticipation for its grand opening. As the group enters the cozy space, they spot Ms. Rosalyn and Patrick already there, getting a sneak peek.

Julia and Gino chat near the counter, and Gino, beaming with pride, says, "Ciao, Julia! The restaurant looks wonderful. My dad can't wait to start cooking here! Thanks for helping me out."

Late Afternoon

Nearby, Patrick, ever the playful one, jumps on a chair, making Poppy giggle as she sits beside him. Julia walks over to talk to him, and Patrick grins, saying, "Hey sport! I've always loved Gino's dad's restaurant. I'm starving—can't wait for that pizza!"

Julia then walks over to speak with Ms. Rosalyn, who gives her a warm smile and says, "I'm glad you're here, Julia. I'm counting on you to continue being such a great help."

Ms. Rosalyn returns to her conversation with Patrick, but the appreciation in her eyes shows how much she trusts Julia's growing leadership and helpfulness.

With their work done, Julia, Poppy, Buddy, and Gino leave the restaurant and make their way to Buddy's house. As they arrive, Buddy enthusiastically turns to Julia, saying, "Hey pal, I'm glad I helped you finish up Gino's dad's restaurant. I can't wait to get my hands on some of that pizza!"

They all share a laugh, their friendship strengthened through their shared experiences. But the night is still young, and the group is ready for some fun.

Deciding to unwind, the friends head over to the town fountain. Giggling and playful, they kick off their shoes and splash in the water, enjoying a moment of carefree joy. The sound of their laughter fills the air as they race around the fountain, relishing the moment of pure friendship.

Once they've dried off and calmed down from their fun, the group decides to visit Poppy and Violet's house. As they arrive, Violet is sitting quietly, reading a book, but she greets Julia warmly. Julia and Violet chat for a bit, and Violet confides, "Ah, it's good to be here in Copperdale. I like to find a dark, quiet corner to relax in when Poppy—my sister—gets... overwhelming."

Julia smiles, understanding the different dynamics between the siblings. It's clear that Violet enjoys her quiet moments just as much as Poppy loves being the center of attention.
